  • The jeans look great! I have them & love them! I paid $98 for jeans & never again! I like the new target brand fit 4 jeans & these Levi jeans!

  • @ambularofamber I just can't bring myself to spend an outrageous amount of money on denim! Will check out target next time I am there. Thanks so much! xoxo Jan

  • You are absolutely fab! I love the color on your wall, it's beautiful :)

    Love you,

    Gina

  • @TheBeautifulGina Thank you sweetheart! The taupe wall actually looks a bit celery green in this video but the chocolate brown is unmistakeable :) xoxo jan

  • Paige Denim, Hudson, and 7 for all Mankind are my favs...two hundred and change is the most I've ever paid....I'm 29 and where jeans nearly every day...hope you keep rocking you jeans...you look fabulous!!!

  • @bkalay Hi sweetheart! I do love jeans but am afraid I will likely never spend that much for a pair :) Love jeans and even tho I will be 60 this month can not imagine ever giving them up. Thanks so much for watching and for the lovely compliment. xoxo jan

  • I love Michael Kors jeans. They fit my body really well. I like a mid rise jean. I find them on sale sometimes for about 50.00. Not on sale they run in the 60-70 dollar range. Thanks for the great video.

  • @gwen3691 You are so very welcome-thanks for watching and will have to check out MK jeans :) xoxo jan

  • I think these 'older ladies' of yours should just be quiet stop criticizing everything you wear and seriously mind their own business because you always look amazing with everything you wear! Those jeans look awesome so does your figure

  • @TheStrangerSpeaks I do declare what ever else would they have to do? LOL Thank you sweetheart xo jan

  • LOL "the dreaded muffin top" well let's not beat around the bush here

  • @TheStrangerSpeaks It is dreaded LMAO but not enought to drive me into Spanx or other shapewear :)

  • @MsDeborahd LOL Total crap :) The fashion police have yet to show up so I must be "OK" I could never give up my jeans :) Thanks for watching- ~hugs jan

  • Hi Jan, got tickled watching your video. My mom & I both have had the hardest time with jeans that fit. She's shorter & curvy & I'm tall & shaped like "Olive Oyl" (thanks to thyroid issues as well). We have had luck finding jeans at our Target & Wal-Mart. They carry lines that offer various different fits now for about $20-$30. Not bad for the price.

  • @mstewartinlex Glad you got a laugh - Will have to check out Walmart next time I need jeans :) Thanks for watching ~hugs jan

  • Who said older women shouldn't wear jeans? It must of been a 20 something yr old :o) Gotta love 'em though. I wear Gloria Vanderbelt? spelling? Lee or Levi's, which ever ones are on sale, dark in color and fit well. I love your style, very classy and beautiful. Have a great weekend love ~ Hugs Mary

  • @AkForgetMeNot65 Many of the women I know-all over 50. They would not be caught dead in a pair of jeans and certainly not "dressed up" with a jacket. They are all quite wealthy and maybe don't realize that they could have designer expensive jeans? So I am a real "rogue" in my neck of the woods lol Dark colors are a short ladies gift. :) Thanks for watching ~hugs back at ya doll jan

  • Production assistants! LOL! Good for you, getting rescue dogs! Lordy but you have long legs! And you're not cheap, just thrifty!

  • @TheFragrantMuse Adoption is ALWAYS our first option! And seriously I am just thrifty! I love to save money :) so I can spend it on more things and more important things.

  • Jan, You are so tiny and I'm so jealous! The most I ever spent on jeans was probably $60. I wasn't a hippie, but I'm cheap too. I've gained a lot of weight since we moved to Alaska and am just happy to find a pair that fit, are comfortable and look good, and of course are CHEAP! Who said older women shouldn't wear jeans?

  • @junbug1029 I don't know about tiny lol but I work very hard at maintaining my weight. I just have lousy genes for cardiovascular disease and don't feel I can afford to not work at it- if I plan on staying around awhile-and those are my plans :)

  • Hi Jan. Thank you so much for sharing your OOTD. I am also an old hippie--and I refuse to ever give up on wearing jeans. I need to try the Levi 512's. The most I have ever paid for a pair of jeans was $40 at Sears for a pair of Levi 550's. I have recently discovered the Levi 515 boot cut at the thrift stores. But, I have read that the best jeans for anyone is Levi's--and to buy them new-- they form to fit your individual body. You look wonderful. Hugs,~Marilyn

  • @Moonchimes Thanks Marilyn :) I will always love my jeans! I do buy them new for the very reason that you mentioned. hugs back at ya! Jan

  • @dianeuk01 Oh the beauty of dark jeans or slacks and a 3" pair of heels. It is the "smoke & mirrors" effect lol Look forward to getting to know you too! xoxo Jan

  • You look lovely, fab figure, your legs look like they go on forever, effortless elegance and yet comfort. I don't have designer wear, can't afford it! I don't see anything wrong with jeans at any age, if you get one to suit your figure they'll be very flattering. I prefer deep blues/black. At the moment I spend most of my life wearing jeggins from H&M here in the UK, or a very flattering pair from Next. I'm petite, have limited options that suit me from a few stores , usually pay £40-45.

  • @dianeuk01 Thanks for the kind words sweetie :) I am quite familiar with the petite issues since I am only 5'3" tall. I also can not afford designer and don't really think it is necessary to look nice. Jeggins-have not gotten any of those yet but am mulling over if I can "pull it off" lol Dark blue & black are the petite girls best friends. You seem to have an awesome knowledge base about beauty & fashion! xoxo

  • I recently gained a lot of weight but I used to use Levis 550's and mens Wranglers relax fit, both under $20. Since I gained the weight I ONLY buy jeans from the clearance section at Walmart, usually around $5-7. I refuse to get a good pair of jeans until the excess weight is all gone!

  • @chelbeans03 I know you hate to spend money on something only to donate it later-but I would urge you to love yourself the way you are right now-buy a decent pair of jeans so you look nice NOW and dress for success! You can and will lose the weight and then donate those jeans knowing they will go to someone who may desperately need them! Just my 2 cents lol xoxo

  • I would never pay more than $40 for a pair of jeans let alone a million dollars! Wow!

Loved your muffin top comment! Great video! :)

  • @rdmlc5 Thanks Dana!

  • I got your back on the birthday, chick! We aren't that far away from each other. I wish I still had my bells with the velvet appliques ( Miss Janis Joplin would have been proud) so darn cool. C

  • @4evryoung58 Thanks-I appreciate it :) Sigh- Oh the awesome Miss Janis :)

  • Oh yeah, I forgot.... Those $50.00 jeans are straight leg from Harley Davidson. I'm 5 foot 7 inches tall and a size 12. Great low rise but not too low. Higher in the back and no muffin tops here! Boots or heels. I love danskos clogs. Have about every color so I'm set. C

  • @4evryoung58 Geez girl no wonder you have no muffins! You have miles of distance between your rib cage and the top of your hip compared to my inch and a half lol I do love shoes-I am going to have to check out the clogs :)

  • Jan, I always tell my girls" It ain't easy bein' easy". I knew we were kindred spirits! Old Hippie ! I've got a few months on you so that makes me an older hippie... I pay 50 tops. NOBODY'S butt is worth those prices you found. Those bells we wore were so awesome. tight thighs and the bells could cover the front of my Suburban! Great video..Love you, Cheryl

  • @4evryoung58 Sigh I know.. they were soo pretty & did not see everyone else in "your" jeans. My butt would certainly not be worth those prices as I have been told I suffer from "noassatall" lol Ok-we gotta straighten this age thing out. I am sending pm with my birthday. If I decide to have a full blown birthday crisis I am expecting support lol from the younger people here.

  • lol @ no muffins!! You look FANTASTIC in those jeans! You know.. all the well off (even rich) people I know refuse to spend lots of money on anything UNLESS it's a huge quality difference, and usually it's never on clothes..

  • @ginabinawina99 Thank you sweetie :)

  • I'm with you! I refuse to pay silly money for anything. To be honest, I buy a lot of clothes second hand off ebay. Let someone else pay the retail price and I'll have them when they're finished with them. I'm 53 and I practically live in jeans. I also did the adding material in the seam thing when I was a hippie in the early 70s. Those bells were awsome!

  • @JaninaM Was that not just the most fun! And everyone else was not wearing "your" jeans-have not purchased much clothing on eBay but have gone to local second hand stores and found a few great items.

  • If older women aren't to wear jeans, I'm a rule breaker! I live in jeans and love them. No low rise, but no tapered leg either. Under $100 works for me if they fit well. I'm 5'9", so it's difficult to find cute jeans that are long enough for me.

On a side note, I thought I was the only one who kisses her dogs!! They're both adorable.

You are one hot hippie chick....keep rockin' those jeans !!

  • @wdbreezy Thanks Suzy :) Geez I would love to be 5'9"! Wouldn't it be nice if they were sold like men's trousers and one could just have them fitted and hemmed right on the spot. Too short is definatelly a bigger issue than too long.

Kissing dogs is a regular habit- I kiss cats too! Maybe I am easy lol

  • Nice OOTD! And thanks for including your pets :)

  • Looking pretty Fabulous for a ole hippie !!! The pups are pretty Fab too ; ) Levis are a classic staple in my closet !!! and I use my coupon at my local dept store to get a discount so def no more than $ 40.00 !!

  • @LovesmyViolet Thanks sweetie-My pups are wonderful!

  • Beautiful outfit. You have a lovely home and the cutest pets. Thanks for sharing.

  • No jeans over age 50?? Oh haill no!!! I'd have to be nekkid then, because generally, that's all I live in haha. I'm with you I don't don't spend big bucks on jeans, can't recall ever spending more that $50, maybe? You are so tiny & you look great in your new find- I'll have to look for that brand, may be a little long on me @ 5'2", though. I am going to look for jeans at Amer. Eagle, LisaLisaD1 like theirs, I like Gap's a lot :)) ~Patti

  • @myqroom I knew I could count on you sweet Patti! I do get most of my jeans shortened for flats by a really nice local lady, And hey girl I saw you in jeans, I think, and a red blouse and I'm thinking the pot is calling the kettle black in the tiny dept! You are littler bitty than I am! Does gap sell a higher rise jean in a 2? These are 10.5 in the front and 14.5 in the back. Don't have a local Gap or AE :(

  • Aww soo cute :) I just love your house and the dogs are soo fricken cute I love dogs;) Thanks for the video, Have A Wonderful Holiday!!!! I think anyone can wear jeans!!!!!!
