  • @char7171, Have you heard the sound of Vichitra Veena? When you are comparing with other instruments it means you dont have your own opinion. If you didnt like the sound of this instrument better to listen Vichitra Veena and dont compare with other instrument. Music has its own language and there is no boundary with east and west . When you compare the instrument with east and west It shows your meanness. Dear friend come out of this. Thanks for your comments. Rajeev Janardan

  • @char7171 yes, it is indian classical music style, which in no way copies non-improvisational styles of the western world.

  • @char7171 Concentrate on music. It helps to get answers!

  • @tothszabi the original inventor is pandit vishwa mohan bhat ji he is the actual mnaster behind this

  • SO...BEAUTIFUL...!!!

  • awesome!!

  • I am slightly confused with the ongoing comment sections. Most guitar players seem to claim inventor of certain improvisations on guitar. I know for sure Pandit Viswa Mohan Bhatt had claimed being inventor of "Mohan Veena", which is an improvisation on westyern guitar. Now I hear Dr. Kamala Sgankar had done a simmilar invention too !!! I know another guitarist from Kolkata (debasish Banerjee) had claimed some simmlar invention too ! God knows about claims these and how significant are they!

  • Beautiful music.

  • very gud performance by both the artist.

  • The Shankar Guitar was designed for the Indian Classical Music entirely. It has no F-hole for eg. (like Sarod, Sitar etc.). The 'Tarapdar Classical Guitar' is a Classical Guitar designed for European Music and modified for the needs of Indian string instruments (tarafs, chikari etc.).

  • Can anyone please explain to me what is the basic difference between a 'Shankar Guitar' and a 'Tarapdar Classical Guitar'??

  • nice jhala..she has a good practice..keep it up.Specially I liked that from 3:56 she started revers jhala, which was more fascinating! Please upload more.

  • Splendid!

  • It's said that an East Indian man was

another inventor of the steel guitar...

so this makes a lot of sense...

  • @RonaldVaughan

Believe the gentleman's name was Gabriel Divion [sic]

  • Aray wah kiya baat hay, Bohat khobsurat and so relaxing, is that a guitar?

  • The smile at 2:52 is beautiful.

  • very nice

  • .........basically it look like a indian version of a weissenborn.........

  • It is in fact an indian version of a weissenborn. A synthesis of the western lap slide and the indian veena designed (I think) by an indian instrument maker named Rikhi Ram (sp?) Absolutely beautiful.

  • very beautiful instrument,...playing too!

  • Repeat- superb performance - keep it up. Soul of Raga Yaman really well exposed. Please add a few more 'shrutis'in the ascending scale and stay there for a few moments to enhance the ecstatic effect you have already mastered. I look forward to its repetition through a little more addition to touch greater heights.

  • Truly a soul lift-up as Suresh49 says. Superb performance. Keep it up Dr. Kamala.
