Even though they fight and have problems, their love is stronger than that. See, when she's with Lon, she's complacent....bored....content­. But with Noah, she's free, wild, and happy. She's challenged and cherished, and that's true love

I am impressed that he wasn't portrayed as some evil asshole. I haven't seen the movie, but I have deduced that there is a storyline that could have easily made him to be out to be a monster.
