  • Those might be impressive if they weren't assisted. Anybody can do practically limitless pull ups on a machine depending on how much they counterbalance themselves. If you can talk while doing pull ups, you're not working hard enough. Also, I was in the military and trained at the forts, camps, and bases of the Army, Navy, and Marines. We all used a normal bar with a foreward, reverse, or combination grip. There is no such thing as a "military pull up", and if there was - those wouldn't be it.

  • I'm in the DEP for the USMC and we don't use a combination grip, but we do use the good old normal drop down bar for our pull-ups.

  • You can tell anyway it's assisted pull ups by looking at her arms muscles and her grip, how much power and when it is applied. It looks clearly that the effort is not much more or less than half her weight and doesn't happen in the motion in the same fashion it would if performing unassisted pullups

  • Those of you who are saying she's using a chair are obviously never have set foot in a gym. It's a machine, and opposite to almost every other peice of equipment, the more weight the better. When doing this exercise, you either use all the weight or your own body weight; the machine propells you upwards, which is why using no weight is tough. You even see her step on the bar and then grab the other bar to do her pullups at 21 seconds, not the bench but the bar at her knees.

  • From what I read lifting heavy weights can significantly raise blood pressure, but for a short amount of time. If you have high blood pressure as it is it may be to dangerous levels. Ask your physician.

    With light cardio my overall blood pressure has still gone down some regardless of me training heavy for 45 min. 3 days a week for the last couple months.
