After Hugh Grant's testimony at the Leveson inquiry Piers stated on twitter (in that usual smarmy sarcastic way of his) "If Nelson Mandela was watching Grant's performance today he'd finally find out what perseuction was about"
To do this on the same day as Milly Dowler's parents gave their testimony just goes to show how crass and self obsessed he is

I don't much care for Piers Morgan. To be fair his documentaries are OK, and he keeps the people he interviews on their toes. As a talent judge he stinks and I'd hate to work for him.

I think the main reason was when he printed an article and photos showing british troops supposedly torturing foriegn soldiers , which turned out ( after 5 minutes of investigation) were obvious fakes . It's very low to print a picture that endagers the life of your own troops knowing they are fake just to sell papers.

If you've not seen the Piers episode of HIGNFY, I urge you to check it out. There's another toe-curling moment where he tries to send up Eddie Izzard and revel in exposing just how unfunny he really is (Eddie's not in that episode, but had proved a popular guest the previous week).
When that doesn't work, he then tries to expose Ian's unpopularity by asking the studio audience whether they really like him. To which they all start cheering for Ian. Another brilliant move from the Moron.
The bit where he tries to turn the HIGNFY audience on Ian Hislop is at the start of this Room 101 clip. Note that Clive Anderson was actually Piers' team-mate for that show (it was the series that Paul Merton took a break from the show - spring 1996).
Piers seems to have this personal vendetta against Stephen Fry at present, maybe because he is widely regarded as a national treasure, jealously is such an ugly trait.

If you've not seen the Piers episode of HIGNFY, I urge you to check it out. There's another toe-curling moment where he tries to send up Eddie Izzard and revel in exposing just how unfunny he really is (Eddie's not in that episode, but had proved a popular guest the previous week).
When that doesn't work, he then tries to expose Ian's unpopularity by asking the studio audience whether they really like him. To which they all start cheering for Ian. Another brilliant move from the Moron.

The bit where he tries to turn the HIGNFY audience on Ian Hislop is at the start of this Room 101 clip. Note that Clive Anderson was actually Piers' team-mate for that show (it was the series that Paul Merton took a break from the show - spring 1996).
