PLUS... a 53 second 400 isn't that impressive. I mean, my junior year of high school i had a workout of 10 400's, all spaced a minute apart. the first 6 were 54 seconds and under, and the last 4 were under 57. My PR was 50.1 , but that's not all that great, and i'm white! Besides, i knew someone who ran a 49 their freshman year of high school

@babb4214 so you could only run a 50 flat as a PR yet you could run 10 sub 57 second 400's with only 1 minute rest between each? sounds unlikely considering one of my friends who was a D2 All American at 400m with a PR of 46.23 would be hard pressed/wouldnt be able to do that workout. His name is Doug Caves from UMass Lowell in case you wanted to check authenticity

@snystrom4550 Now that i think about it, it might of been 2 min rest. Either way all 10 were under 57! 400 wasn't my strong suit, it was the 200, which was a 21.3 as a junior.

400m was always fun. I was in the low 48's. our 4x400 record is 3:18:54 set back in 2002. I think it was in the top 5 in TN history. Team that beat us broke the record.
