Crouch lp like crazy to let him know you can stop it. Also, cross up mk to crouching mp-->COD. When he has his Ultra run up to his face and EX roll to other side. If he does the ultra WAIT for it to be over (he might stay in one place).

Also, most people know this but you can land a free ultra on him if you block the straight ball (diagonal is a little tougher).

Tis easy to defeat Blanka as abel. Blanka is Fast and a higher jumper, and all u need to be is in close range to be deadly. on the other hand, all his moves when blocked stagger him, and that's when Abel is deadly the most at these times(beside the fact that blanka will always try to be close range). to be honest i faught couple of skillful blanka's, but no matter wut i believe abel is like a 75% win ratio against blankas

blankas ultra is tad too fierce but look at sagats akuma and now i think of it cammys for uber damage, as for normal moves he needs something to combat other charas. if he was nerfed ryu able and many others would shite on him and wheres the balance in that. in fact all ive heard on most sites is how people dislike him and trust me if someone knows how to counter a blanka its easily doable. as for able i think hes one of the most powerful and hardest fights for a blanka. what if they nerf him?

damn i the only rpoblem i have with abel that keeps me from having a great one is that forward kick into dash. Since im using a 360 controller i usually overdue the dash and abels dash being that first it does the dash about 2 times instead of what i originally wanted.

the forward in forward kick is part of the dash, so you just need one more forward motion to make him dash cancel, just practice the timing, no need for extra inputs.

Blanka is not cheap. yes he has strong fast attacks, but they all have low priority that can be over-written with a simple jab (including his ultra.) Every character has cheap aspects to them, but they also have weaknesses to counter them. e.i.: Zangief having the highest attack nd defense, but being the slowest and unable 2 combo into either his ultra or super.

I like Shiro's Abel the best. I can't count how many times people opt to roll after the cr. fp to perform falling sky even though it's pretty much end of the fight and they're already at full meter. It's funny when they whiff the grab because of the roll lol then lose the match, I don't like seeing Abel lose but when you do that to be flashy you deserve to get owned.

You don't understand because you don't play Abel, or you don't play him well. c.hp xx roll xx falling sky becomes ingrained into muscle memory, so that when you land a c.hp and you don't have an ultra you instinctively hit that roll into falling sky. A simple c.hp straight into a falling sky is probably HARDER to an Abel player than the .c.hp roll, simply because it's not reflexive muscle memory.

The Abel's you play must suck, if they whiff that combo.

Abel's ultra is really weird about when it does or doesn't wanna connect. Too early, you go under. Too late, he drops and you miss. And every character is a little different (by just a little). It happens to the best Abel's too. Bustabus even. And Falling sky as an aa is a joke, its not worth it. You gotta be psychic to make it work.

best way to get Falling Sky is to use lk roll and cancel it into FS, you roll under them and miss the attack and get them clean with it. unfortunately you still can't do it on reaction..
