Is this a demo, or combined video of several demos ... I'm sure i saw some stuff from some old demos ... Maybe you recoded that stuff for tribute reasons. No disrespect intended ... Some Amiga demos visually emerge from this demo. Although it's all in the eye of beholder LOLz.

So let me get this straight: the initial code is 64k, then the final demo gets generated from low detail textures, 3d objects, particle systems, mathematical functions and whatnot, plus the music. Then it plays and awesome comes out of my monitor and soundcard.

BTW I'm watching Beyond on AXN Sci-Fi right now, so good to see your work on a tv channel.

From what I gather, the textures could be a couple megs big, but when it's dumped into rbg text, you can compress the absolute crap out of a text file vs an already compressed jpg. Pretty much everything is compressed vurrry tightly, then when it does the precalc, it expands/plays it on the fly. Maybe I'm wrong.

we're talking about two different things here:

in a 64k, you have about 30k of code and 30k of data, and the code uses the data as a starting point to procedurally generate everything.

in THIS demo, however, there was no such technology used, mostly because this demo was purpose built for an xbox 360 and it's a lot harder to work with sizelimitations on that.

it IS true that the demo uses the same tool we use for 64ks, but only for compositing and animation.

youve got to realize and explain to people that while they made the demo into a "movie" by capturing each frame then doing whatever to it, is that the actual demo is real time as a standalone - meaning every frame is being rendered/calculated real time by the Graphics card. As a stand alone it isnt a "movie".
