  • Um.. is your mom Mrs. Gruss at Wilson?

  • No? Who is that?

  • I absolutely love "Mercy, Unbound." It's great how it's not from the normal point of view...I thought the thing in the beginning about her kissing her friend was different.

  • This review of Mercy, Unbound wins at life. It makes you want to read it (which you all should, by the way) and actually tells a lot more than the back cover. Go you!

Also, your facial expressions get the Aku Seal of Approval. :)

  • Thanks for the review! I enjoyed it very much, and I'm so glad you liked the book.

  • Great video! It pays off once one does the nutrition research.

I eat like you. Protein, fats, some fruits (carefully they are loaded with fructose!) Nonetheless I eat complex carbs from sweet potatoes, yams, potatoes, whole wheat, brown rice... ~But very well monitored...

  • I have that book Slim to None. I found it a hard read just because it was so detailed in the treatment transcripts and so lagging in the obsessive details I crave in these type books. You are absolutely right about the fats and proteins! I figured that out too. Atkins was on to something. Although for us, the bacon thing is a BIT much. But yeah, protein and fats will carry you MUCH further than fat-free and carbs. Great vid!

  • Hey, Slim to None was written by her father, I think. I wrote to him and received a reply. Her story was very sad. I hate this illness. Although it does affect us all differently. Mmmm. You're making a lot of videos lately. :)

  • Her father wrote the narration, but the main content of the book -- the journals -- was all written by Jenny. And he did actually publish it under her name, as he recognized that, intellectually, it really was her book.

I AM making a lot of vids lately. I won't be able to make any after the 25th, so I guess I might as well stock up now... ?? Haha. :P

  • The people who made those soy nuts probably kept that 95 calories in mind... say it was 100 calories, it'd be harder to market to the diet crowd eh?

I agree with you about the whole foods aspect, I think that the big problem today is that people have gotten so used to the mass amounts of sugar in everything that it's hard to resist. And America wonders why the rate of diabetes has skyrocketed...

  • Sad but true. I doubt I'd have bought it at all if it had said 100 calories. Then again, I have this thing about not wanting any specific food that I eat to be over 100 calories, so... lol.

I def. agree about the sugar thing...
