GREAT range of emotion- nervous, excited, sad, joyful- so typical of great Pam Long writing in a marriage w/ fabulous cast. What wasted years for GA and BC when psycho cartoonlike stuff was written in last decade of show (shudder) & you couldn't recognize either character or understand them!
Sadly, not until Final GL Week would you see GA get to play this joyful side of Phil. WHAT a waste of my all time favorite couple and all time favorite character ( in any medium). 1983-92 rocked.
i never liked beth but then again i have only been a gl fan since the mid to late 90's. so i have really only seen beth as desperate, prone to wreck her lfe and make bad choices, a slut and now a kougar that beds any young guy. thanks for putting all these old episodes on so that i can see a better beth and better phillip.
well your wish has come true Grant is returning as Phillip this January. He has announced that he signed a long term contract and cant wait to get back to work filming within the next month or two. I personally cant wait for the Phillip and Beth reunion I love them as much as Josh and Reva. The only thing that could top this is if they got Vincent Irizarry back as Lujack (Believe it or not that WAS in the plans but Y&R grabbed him up and now hes back at AMC so those plans are probably scrapped.)
cute cute couple these to are always gonna be my ultimate favorite couple on gl and also from daytime soaps there great how awesome would it be to see them together again on guiding light that would be awesome

rezzy0, I agree that all of the characters were well written for from 1983-92. The last decade of Guiding Light had horrible writting.
