  • 4:22 FAIL

Uses natural gas ( which is RUNNING OUT ) to make hydrogen - you haven't solved the problem lol, wtf they think we're stupid? :D

  • @cr4yv3n Someday it may use renewable energy

  • @cr4yv3n you can use water tard...

  • @TehFlyingGerman /facepalm

water is not hydrogen, moron...do you know nothing about chemistry?

  • @cr4yv3n not what i said retard. im saying hydrogen, can be extracted from water

  • @TehFlyingGerman Read my comment to punchmaster123 and the problems with this system.

  • I'd rather have a car that runs on water directly. If you have to use natural gaz to make hydrogen, where is the progress?! This is just another sceem to stay rich and in power.

Get rid of the monatary system, folks !

In the meantime I'll stick to my bicycle, thank you.

  • @TamiAvrami Ur right , natural gas is fossil fuel. Ur right, natural gas isn't the only way to create hydrogen. Water is the way to go . Greedy pricks.

  • 68 miles per gallon of what? hydrogen? you have to buy hyrogen? how much is the hydrogen?

you can make your own hydrogen!! HHO fuel cells people wake up!!

  • @bigwillchill Mileage: The car needs the same amount of energy like a gasoline car with 68 miles per gallon. Yes, you can make your own hydrogen: You need about 75 kWh electricity to produce enough hydrogen for 100 miles.

HHO fuel cell people grow up!

You still seem to believe in Santa Claus.

  • Imagine how rainier the weather would be if everyone drove hydrogen cars

  • @punchmaster123 Not very, as more and more water from the Earth's oceans would be transformed into Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms used for fusion.

Fusion is a one way process.

Once it is done you need MORE energy than it has been obtained to create a fission - the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

So in the long run the whole Earth's water would run out eventually turning into9 heavier elements.

  • combine electricity and hydrogen now thats a hybrid

  • why cant't you just hooka hose to the pump and call it a day?

  • way better than oil, but stil bullshit. you don't need this and any "hydrogen stations", when you can run cars on just plain water.

  • people think honda are falling behind everyone else with mpg and hybrids. what everyone doesn't realize is that their working on hydrogen everyone else needs to catch up hybrid is old and soon cars will have to be either all electric like th leaf or hydrogen

  • Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe. With the "green-energy" craze and talk of powering our future oil-free economy on hydrogen, it has gotten much attention in the last few years. Learning about this potential fuel of the future is important and interesting. Besides, hydrogen is a powerful fuel, and blowing stuff up in the name of science is fun .

  • Electrolysis a method of separating elements by pushing an electric current through a compound. It is used in various industrial applications such as removing copper from its ore. It is also used to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water. Electrolysis isn't the most efficient way to obtain hydrogen, but it is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to "homebrew" hydrogen.

  • @mathexalias so if hydrogen is so easily extractlible from water, why not install an electrolysis-er in the honda FCX? then you wouldn't have to build and entire infrastructure just to accomodate hydrogen fuel cells, because you could just run your car on water, and it would emit water, that you could use for fuel.

  • 1 Saudi Arabian disliked this video.

  • So it still requires gasoline? Ya it is still like any other car on the road! Worthless if it needs gasoline!

  • @Migillicuty420a it doesn't need gasoline retard

  • @flref0x Gp to 3:01 he says it gets 68 MPG its just a hybrid that runs on gas and has a hydrogen booster. You can google it and see the cell too its not much better than a home made one dumb ass!!

  • @Migillicuty420a your the dumb ass here spaz boy, dont know if you were watching most of the video where it talks about hydrogen refueling sites doesent mention gas anyhwre in the vid ;)

And well done genius, it does do 68MPG....68 miles for every gallon of liquid hydrogen.

  • Ok we get the point its a normal car.

  • Why not build a good looking hydrogen powered car?

  • That's what I said...you didn't mention hydrogen before.

  • Don't forget about wind power, solar power and hydro power (water). If we want a green world we can do it. We just need enough people to stand behind the change.

  • @darrenspiece Hydrogen IS a byproduct of water...

  • We have an endless supply of water. You then create the electricity through wind, solar or hydro which are all clean sources. You then run the electricity through the water to release the hydrogen. Hydrogen is the fuel we will burn with zero pollution.

  • @darrenspiece dont forget nuclear power (kind of) and wave power

  • It is not free energy because they use a petrol or natural "gas," or electricity to make the Hydrogen. So it does not decrease dependence on foreign oil import, nor does it create an efficient and renewable energy source. Energy must be used to create hydrogen. Unless that energy is renewable this Hybrid is not fuel efficient, nor is it "green."

  • Where and when do I buy this??

  • That's cool! We just need to move quick. It just makes me sad when the rich keep thinking about their bank accounts, and in the meantime we are destroying the world and humanity. We are in need of a massive change, when it comes to how we humans live on this planet.

  • Why use natural gas to create hydrogen when you can just use water? I thought we were trying to get away from fossil fuels. We need to eliminate our use of oil & gas if we want to stop our planet from heating up.

  • @darrenspiece If I understand correctly, this with use considerably less amounts of gas in proportion to miles per gallon then a normal car. Plus, this is just a stop gap measure until a hydrogen economy is in place.

  • @darrenspiece... they hope natural gas is cleaner and greener, because the water medium requires electricity, and the electricity is a coal product. So the water systems use either a petroleum product or electricity or both, to make the hydrogen. Natural gas is greener than electricity, because electricity is produced from burning coal.

  • The world needs to start moving to a cleaner future; global warming is hitting us fast. And for all you skeptics, who dont think global warming is real, explain this: In Canada on New Years it was positive 10 degree, the highest record of heat ever recorded on this day in all of Canadian history. Even with El Nina this year, we barely got any snow in the eastern parts of the country. Somedays, i didnt need to wear a coat out, IN CANADIAN WINTER!

  • They better hurry and make more then these. Im taking a world issues course in uni and my prof says by 2013, gas is offically going to be unaffordable to the middle class. It will be rolling in at 7 dollars or more a litre. This also means increaced prices on anything with oil in it so if your complaiing about air ticket prices now, wait till you see how they sky rocket by then!

  • @untoldivy 2013? Thats unlikely, I'll give us until 2025, there are more places we haven't been drilling for oil still.

  • i have a little toy hydrogen powered car that i assembled its so cool and fun

  • does it have gears?

  • You're a fucking idiot shyankn with no understanding of where hydrogen is actually derived from. As he says in the video the hydrogen is obtained from natural gas. Yes, natural gas a fossil fuel.

  • @metaphoricrocky - watch your language, especially when you're wrong. Flying off the handle shows a lack of self-control. Next time, make sure of your facts first. Shyankn is right. For your information, India has had hydrogen fueled cars for YEARS. The hydrogen is taken from WATER. A component in the engine of the car does the job of splitting the water into its two gasses - hydrogen & oxygen. Greedy car manufacturers are only trying to make us more dependent on them by not using water.

  • @AyudaraOtras It takes more energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen than you can get recombining them.

  • @ArchNME compared to what you're saving by not using a natural non-renewable resource, i think that your argument is irrelevant. so what if you have to fuel up more often? hydrogen is the most abundant element in the known universe. hell the sun runs off of it, and I don't see anybody complaining about the energy efficiency of the sun.

  • @executableapplet The sun runs on nuclear fusion not chemical reactions. I didn't say anything about fueling up more often nor was a knocking this hydrogen car in any way. I was just pointing out the flaw in the logic of running a car on water to another commenter.

Also, while hydrogen may be the most abundant element in the universe most of it here on earth is tied up in molecules with other elements already and you need energy to free it. So hydrogen is more just an energy storage medium.

  • @metaphoricrocky seriously??

  • they already know how to get the hydrogen out of the water in the car, so all you have to do is put water in!!!!!! but they cant make any money off of water , its all a bunch of bullshit the government doin everything they can to keep the water system from taking off, sooo wrong!!!!!!!

  • The hydrogen fuel cell kit fits almost every car and diesel and its about 500. its a great deal

  • HONDA and TOYOTA are the most advance propulsionand robotics companies on the planet, next to BOEING and LOCKHEED MARTIN.

  • why do the hydrogen cars look so bloody stupid?

  • Nothing stopping you from designing a car-body yourself. It is a new day. Get busy.

  • Australias turn to start converting. We have Bio Fuels such as Unleaded 95 etc etc and LPG and Diesil and we need Hydrogen instead of LPG Gas all the big Oil Corps (Caltex, Freedom, BP etc) prob won't let this happens cause they will lose to much money so the Australian Government needs to inforce this apon them =)

  • Umm quick question... HOW DO YOU THINK HYDROGEN CAN POWER CARS IF IT ONLY STORES ENGERGY!!!??? iTS NOT A SOURCE OF ENGERGY... xd

  • It's combustible. :P

  • wat? 68 mpg? gas or H2?

  • wow, i want one no more gasoline car fuck oil company

  • How do you turn hydrogen into electric??(Honda FCX)

  • simple, the same way water currents keeps a waterwheels turning that powers low-tech machines, when use electricity to power a powertrain it forces the water molcules to exsert through the engine and all the preasure causes the water to heat up and then turns to gas

  • This car is a EV, it has a electric motor (warp9) not a ENGINE so *How do you turn hydrogen into electric?......

  • Yo freedom! It uses a hydrogen fuel cell. The fuel cell takes hydrogen from a tank and mixes the hydrogen with ambient air to create massive amounts of electricity that is collected in the battery. ( I believe the FCX Clarity uses lithium ion, but I could be wrong ). This technology is different than what most people are working on. ( ie: water to hydrogen in gas burning cars that use electrolisis or hydrogen generators converting water to fuel e.t.c. ) This has great potential.

  • In what NASA has used for 40-years, a FUEL CELL, which combines hydrogen and oxygen, the two most common elements in the universe, and turns it dierctly into electricity, emitting drinking water as a by-product!

  • They're still getting the hydrogen from a non renewable source. idiots. what's the point? they're thinking of the environment not your wallet. We can get hydrogen from water with no pollution and we don't need any natural gas. the cost would be nothing. and yes he is fat!

  • dude... hydrogen is the most abundant element on earth so were as it is not renewable there is soo god much of it

  • It's not that simple hydrogen is very good at bonding to other elements and it is difficult to break those bonds doing so requires a lot of energy. The same amount of time and effort goes into separating hydrogen from compounds to produce pure hydrogen as it takes to refine oil. But on the plus side the emissions are water vapour so there is no harm done to the atmosphere and the hydrogen gets recycled.

  • This guy is annoying, and he's fat.

  • How much is a gallon of hydrogen fuel burned in this car?

  • and no more taxes !!!

dont let them fool you into anything!

  • that's the problem..The government will shut it down because you can't tax it.

  • To alwaysending. Since when has it ever been a free market. commie

  • do you have so many illegal in your country, canada?i thought canada is so liberal when it comes to foreign worker.i am surprised that there are still people out there who believe that with falling foreigner rates a country will do better!!reminds me on nazi germany !...and that in 2008!shameful.

do you know how much goes in government pockets because of immigrants?no you dont ,i know!

  • To drive this reaction, which starts from the cleavage of the hydrogen, rhodium or platinum is necessary and it's difficult to replace it. Both metals are truely rare on earth. I do not think, we will be able to drive this kind of cars in the future. Practically we do not have enough materials.

  • The only problem is, it is not happening fast enough. We can make the goverments help with the hydrogen fueling stations.Remember one thing, there is power in numbers.Right now it is not a free market but we can change that..

  • ok commie, you want to change the free market

  • the Car for the Future brought to you by HONDA

hmmm wonder where the big detroit 3 is on this? still making SUVs i guess.

  • available for whom ?

  • Holy Shit!

  • I don`t know about the rest of the world, but here in the UK if this takes off the Govt. will simply transfer the cost of driving and tax the hydrogen. In effect making the most plentiful substance / element in the universe as costly as the black gold we pay for now !

Of course, the emmissions and quieter qualities of these objects seem like a good thing.

  • This car may go down in history as the turning point. HONDA IS KING.

  • yes good talk !

  • People can't even afford the hybrids they're selling today more or less a hydrogen fuel cell car...ugh. If there are cheaper non-hybrid/hydrogen cars available today, then we will never move everyone to this type of vehicle...only if we force them. I'd love one though.

  • Like VCR's and LCD's etc,,, all products are expensive at the begining then the price drops.

  • Yeh there is very little in this world that is not controlled by big corporations! They rape this planet and go about their business with no respect for anyone or any thing! They will be the end of us!

  • I want one.

  • Folks hydrogen sounds good from the surface, however it is a trick to make you buy hydrogen instead of gas. If we find the ability to make your own onboard hyrdrogen then its worth it. But to rely on more corporations to supply you with fuel is absolutely mindless.

Electric cars or compressed air cars are the only way to go. Electric cars can be charged with solar or wind power. Solar kits and winds kits are very affordable costing less than 10K

  • @buknaked007

I totally agree with you @buknaked007! To substitute a substance for another is just another way for the global elite to tax us, (take a huge chunk off your pay check). Making you work longer for nothing. Preventing you from having enough time to educate yourself. Evolution means that we go for a source of energy like the sun which is so abundant and available that we can't count how much you're using, therefore providing you with all you need in a 15 hours work/week.
