  • the next time i will go for fishing squids i will rig my camera

  • Its a T Dane you guys shouldnt judge this guy about not knowing the right species when you dont know it either.

  • it looks if it belongs in the movie Avatar

  • i dont like itttt

  • this is a humboldt squid a giant squid would be much bigger and if it was it would be all over the news

  • not only is it not a giant squid it is also not bioluminescent, that was uv reactive.

  • @RedNut666 Not only is it not a giant squid , or bioluminescent, its also not uv reactive this was fake, cgi model.

  • that isn't a giant squid. there's only one video of it and even that one is unclear. this is probably a humboldt.

  • Hey guys i just put a video up of this same thing in hong kong!!!!! Its pretty awesome you should all check it out and subscribe!!

  • I don't think that's bioluminescence, isn't that just a birght light on the camera?

  • @Wirrn

    Yeah, I agree with you.

Even if these squids are bioluminescent that isn´t ivisble on this video.

  • Hahaha! could you imagine this thing coming at you all rude like that!!?????

  • To the "giant squid": you sir, you FAILED not once but twice!

  • This is really cool! You should check out my Bioluminescence video from Hong Kong, we got them to glow really bright by throwing a huge rock in the water!

  • humboldt squid?

  • Comment removed

  • Totally missed the target! Twice!!! XD

  • This is a Dana Octopus-Squid actually

  • that was a humbolt squid. they are deep sea dwelling and are around a meter long. nice post ive never seen this vid before

  • An actual live giant squid was never recorded until fairly recently, by a Japanese team. It lost tentacle in its struggle. That is my memory of the news story.

  • No, in monster quest 2007 they strapped a camera to a big squid (30 inches long) and let it go deep down. The video picked up a massive squid....

This video is like a reconstruction of what happened.

  • @A4ANT Actually, I think this video is a reconstruction of what happened when a Japanese research ship took pictures of an architeuthis whose whip got snagged on the boom.

  • they are using new HD deep water cameras to catch the action, no enhancement.

that is so scary i am never going swimming again. i always thought squid swam like they were doing the breathe stroke, you know, with the tentacles behind

  • Hmmmm, compare this to "Monster Glowing Squid Caught on Camera" posted by 01067571512. Inhanced or not, it's cool.

  • thats super kewl!

  • That wasn't a giant squid! The squid are transparent in the twilight zone (where no sun shines) That was a transparent squid.

  • Giant squid live more at the point in between the part of the ocean which gets no sun, and the part that does..so they can be seen in both places

  • Actually, he's right. This is Taningia danae, a different species.

  • giant squids are transparent

  • amazing

  • Fantastic! Where was this video taken?

  • That thing is remarkably agile. Great scene.

  • Hehe it was a little sped up but yeah it still is.

  • Awesome.

  • scary shit
