@SinCity007 I think I agree with you. I love the original aswell, also cos its set at Christmas, but I agree this is slightly better. I think all 4 movies are ACE! Shane Black has to be one of the best writers out there.
@goldminer1957 Gibson is the best. He bet me a beer and a pack of cigarettes he could beat me in a 40 yard dash outside an Applebee's in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'll be damned if he didn't beat me. My artificial leg fell off about 25 yds in.
@goldminer1957 Worked with him on The Patriot and thought he was an impossible ass hole. Guess it depends where you know someone. On the job or at play.
@C6H5NC Indeed .The Wilbury "family" was a great assemblage of musicians & friends. No egos / no 'baggage' just getting on with it & making great rock & roll.
I saw Lethal Weapon 2 and when it came to the end scene in the movie where they played this song I cried like a dog.I had the best of dark horse on tape and I played this song so much it broke. When George died I cried again like a dog,it was such a loss to the world.
Unless you were an obsessional George fan, not a lot of people knew about this track untill it was used on LW2 and perfectly timed for the end of the movie, a lot of people i know who saw it at the cinema waited to the very end of the credits to see who sang it, I of course knew exactly who that great voice belonged to and when to my nearsest HMV the next day to buy a copy of the soundtrack. What a wee Gem this is.
This was actually the only song released from what was to be the Traveling Wilburys second album. Del Shannon died before it was completed so the project was never finished.
My scale for the 'Lethal Weapon' movies/sound-tracks:
'Lethal Weapon' - Both 8.5/10.
'Lethal Weapon 2'- Both 8/10.
'Lethal Weapon 3'- Both 8.5/10.
'Lethal Weapon 4'- Have yet to review it. (**The movie wasn't all that good, or, so people have told me, but, at least it's nothing like 'Batman & Robin'.**.).

Bad thing about a song like this is you remember just how old you are and how much fun you had back then and no matter what you do it is all lost to the past. It's not until we are old do we realize that when we were young was the best years of our lives. Especially the 80's; who can argue with that?
Should have loved him more when he was around. Too much time deciding who was the heart of the Beatles; John or Paul when George was always the pulse.
Thanks for your your creative spirit in everything you did.
