Another thing that will work is a plasma ball. And eventually you'll find in-game items that can raise the solar gauge themselves.

funny, but did u no that if u put play lunar knights with boktai 2 on DS than u can use the solar censor from boktai in lunar knights!!! i think....at least the game lunar knights tells me to check the solar sensor for some reason. try it out

did you know, that if you put boktai 2 in the GBA slot then play megaman battle network 5 double team ds on the ds slot, you can use sol cross( A.K.A Django soul) as long as you want.

Actually thats a spinoff of boktai they were supposed to make boktai three for the ds but sadly that never happened so they began work on regular boktai for the ds like the first game but different both were supposed to have been able to be used in conjunction with any boktai cartridge to pick up sunlight also never coming true development stopped and something about its rights was sold so they made lunar knights a game which i simply wont buy

more specifically, Boktai is a shortening of the Japanese title "Bokura no Taiyou", which literally translates to Our Sun.

Boktai is a portmanteau of "Bokura no Taiyou" which means "Our sun" so when he was yelling "Taiyou" as he was charging, he was saying "sun"

I'm sure this point is moot now, but you can probably squeeze a little more juice out of that black light if you calibrate the sensor first.

(this may be illegal im not sure...) if you are a good programer (or a freind/fammily is one) you can hack the device to always say full sun, though i have yet to delete the overheat program so it comes up every 30-60 min and does nothing but distracts you.

good work on the video; however one thing that just makes me wonder if why nobody ever seemed to think of the blacklight.. I've been using mine on boktai 1 and two for awhile now and well it's UV light and the sun gives off hmm i wonder?? UV light no way!!! it's like the same thing. Sorry the video is good and im glad your helping other people, But since nobody wanted to bother with boktai they never bothered to port the third one so us hardcore fans have to suffer forever..

Yes Lunar knights is the fourth game that takes place with the boktai story lines. However due to the fact boktai bombed over in the united states when lunar knights was ported over to the US they changed the names of most of the characters to try and mask any boktai references. Lunar knights just happens to take place in a kinda alternate reality thing; If you go to wiki and read the boktai three story line arc it makes more since why the forth game is the way it is.

Correct! The sun will flare a lot more when you have more sunlight. Also If you have more than three bars of light "those little blocks in the sensor" when you press start the games says "what a great Boktai day!

dude ive been wondering the samethng becus iis sabatas gun and the name "dark gun" would most likely imply that u dont need sunlight to charge it but... i guess then the game would be even easyier on hard mode lol i beat it on hard mode and it was easy but yeah.....................but yeah

Just like you said, because gun del hell is so powerful they required you to charge it so the game wouldn't be so easy to beat. However in boktai 2 when you do get to play as sabata orginal owner of gun del hell it can only be charged when there is no sunlight. It's just something they did in the first one to keep the game difficult.

I am so glad I came across your videos. I bought this game years ago but I was never able to finish because I dislike sunlight to the fullest. I happened to find a black light in my basement not to long ago and it worked. Good thinking!

when i first battled the count the real count not the stupid decoy it was dark outside so i had to impravise and i used a nightstandf lamp for energy and i still do that today when purifying on my boktai 2 i play the first ocaisanally but not o much as the computer lol but yeah after u use te lamp tho u see spots for a long time when u blink i just did it again last night to purify django for the second time i started over because the second onwe u dont start in challenge mode thing but yeah

The light...it burns....but really, if you're trying to play Boktai on a DS or a Micro it's not so fun on the outside. The screens can hardly be seen in direct light, which is why it sucks outside. The original GBA CAN be played outside, but I prefer a back-light screen.
