It's obvious, from his mannerisms and reactions. He's scared, insecure. It doesn't take a PhD to know that. Just a little empathy and some disregard for one's own ego.

For example, when he screams "Shut up" it's obvious he's talking to himself.

I can't see how people now latching to this pitiful addict. He's detached from reality and in suffering, like most party people. Everyone needs to realize that under the same circumstances and problems we'd all react the same. There's nothing to hate.
