I was going to get an original DS in used condition until I learned that the Lite did everything it could with better performance.

The screens shine brighter (with better resolution) and the colors looked way better than the original. And the touch screen was improved for sensitivity and durability with an improved stylus.

After learning that (and by seeing a few comparison videos here on YouTube), I decided to save my money and buy a few more games for my DS Lite.

of course the original DS wins. it is stronger, the volume is higher, the touch of the buttons is better, it doesn't break as fast as the DS lite and the slot 2 for GBA games is better because the cartridge fits completely in the slot not like the DS Lite and the charger of the original DS can be also used with a Game Boy Advance SP. So the original DS wins

Yeah.I should have gotten my self an original DS.The DPAD is the worse in Nintendo portable history and it breaks constantly(around 3 times).The only thing that the DS.lite have over the original is batter and the easer ability to use cartridge tilting(for GBA games).I really wish I traded my broken ass DS.lite original DS but the hinge was also broken so I have to buy one online.

well in terms of durability the original ds i mean its that thick brick like body that keeps it from breaking easily

i mean smack the two units together the lite will get the most damage most def

however the ds lite is more portable has a better look to it and is sleeker i mean with one hand you can slide it in your back jean pocket unlike the original. oh and need i say the screen it blows the old ds away

I would get the Lite just because it is A LOT easier to get accessories for (at least in America. ever since the DSi came out they basically stopped selling accessories for the original DS everywhere).

I would NOT suggest getting the DSi unless you don't like any GBA games (because you can't play GBA games on the DSi), but if you don't play any GBA games, or have a spare GBA laying around, and have the money for it, get the DSi.
