  • I was a Mormon for 2 years in college because it focuses on family. Then it turned out to be too controlling, unlike the totally free-to-choose Buddhism. Now i am just spiritual, knowing that we are just spirits having an earthy, human experience. All relationship, including family, are actually spiritual not social. Seeing what this society is trying to convince me and what i can/should do as a spirit gives my existence so much brilliance i didn't have before. Thank you for your videos.

  • People like you diserver to die you not german you arnt aryan race Ich wette, du irgendeine Art von Jude Ihr krank und sollte ausgelöscht werden sieg heil sieg heil 14/88 you discrace to father land

  • @rudolfhess2012 Welche Art von einer deutschen bist du? Moron, wurde das deutsche Vaterland groß vor dem Reich. Das ist, was eine Person sein sollte anstreben, erreichen

  • There needs to be less hate from the gays toward religion? Last time I checked the gay community wasn't getting together on the weekends and preaching that religious people are sick and diseased and should possibly even be killed.

I'm not saying *all* religions say these things but let's be real; the hate did not start in the gay community. Many in the community hate religion because some so boldly claim we are mentally ill or perverted while having power over laws that affect *OUR* lives.

  • I am a bisexual and mormon. I love your videos. PLEASE keep them up!

  • lovely thoughts from a lovely guy. keep it up and good luck. gr from Spain

  • Just subscribed, I hope you keep making videos :)

  • Well done sir. You are one of the few people in this dark world that I have had the privilege of discovering, not only are you gay but you have managed to maintain your religion along with your sexuality. And I hope I can find more people like you.

  • haha love your german in the beginning! i'm living in germany and i just found your videos and they are amazing and you're so right! i'm gay and experienced just good reactions till now i came out the closet this year and it felt like breaking free!but there are still to many hobophobic people and i don't really get their problem and i think i'll never get it!but anyways if you're coming to germany just visit stuttgart or tübingen =)

    keep on doin your videos!

    subscribed and 5*

  • Inspirational, David. Keep you tolerance, but be prepared to stand up to those who would kill you for your religion or your gay identity.

  • Well done David. I especially like the part that takes personal responsibility to have it begin with us.

  • David, you are wise beyond your years! It would be nice to see a video from you about how you have achieved that balance you describe.

  • the fall of the berlin wall was important to me as it was the first time in my life that i was politically aware of world events and the significance of what was on the news ( i was born is 1983 ),

Well done for attaining some balance in your life, i am looking for it too but i think my scales are broken.

  • Great vid David...I'm glad you found balance cause it would be a shame for this world to lose your beautiful soul. U r such an inspiration to young gay people who r struggling. It is so hard to be tolerant of the "fundies" when all they spew is hate speech based on a few obscure scriptures instead of looking at the broader message of faith. How do we fight against irrational belief and fear? How do we learn to tolerate irrationality?

  • @fieryphoenixg1,we fight the fundies on THEIR terms. we find folks who can quote and relate TO scripture. if we know scripture, and can interpret it honestly and objectively, and not take scripture passages out of context, or mis-interprete.and we can't stick our noses in the air and think and say we are too intelligent to debate bible-thumpers. that makes us look and sound like the elite snobs they claim we are

  • Well said! Amen! Amen! Amen!

Thanks David! You are indeed an inspiration. You give us hope!!

  • balance is beautiful on you. You are a different, more peaceful man now. Do what resonates best for you. god gave us free will, use it. good vid!

  • I'm confused...if you are 20 years old, how is it that you have already graduated from college? Or did you just leave school and get a job instead?

  • I totally understand where you are coming from... except my family is extremely Catholic. I feel like I have to choose one or the other--gay or catholic. Its frustrating to say the least.

    Anyway, I enjoyed your video!!!

  • @TylerAg07, why should you have to choose between one or the other. you are catholic either because of parents choosing(or yours), and you are gay because IT CHOSE YOU.and if you wish to continue to to be catholic, then RECLAIM it from the bigots.and say to them " i am a catholic who happens to be gay".

  • I agree 100%. My parents chose it for me... I'm in college and still trying to figure myself out.

But If I remain Catholic, I will stand up against the bigots and show them that it IS possible to be a catholic who happens to be gay!!

    Thanks!!!

  • Good for you TylerAg07. Show the world that you are a good person with faith and it just so happens you are gay.

  • Extremely deep and powerful video. I am so glad that you friended me on Facebook so I can get to know you a little more each and every day.

You have a very beautiful soul to match your heart and your look.

Please enjoy these wonderful times in DC, where I spent an amazing 16 years before moving to TX this year.

  • I totally believe in our lifetime spirituality and sexuality will find balance. Already this is beginning to happen. Recent examples are the episcopal church and ELCA allowing openly gay clergy.

I personally have no religion. But I totally believe you don't have to choose between your sexuality or religion. It may seem that way, but you absolutely do not have to. One can embrace both.

On another note: I am studying in Germany next fall for a semester =)

    Nice video.

  • Thanks for the thoughts. It is a difficult thing as I myself am on the painful journey of trying to find the balance between who I am and what I believe. Coming from the absolutes of Mormonism makes it an incredibly tough thing to do. I hope I survive the internal war between the two.

  • Amazingly enough it is three if you look closely. :)

  • hey man, this was a nice video linking 2 different issues, awesome-o
