@Nana64 who starts out a post with first of all... but anyway I have known Ron my whole life he trains the local pierce county dogs as well as many other service dogs and house pets and to say his cpr sucks and that the dogs heart was still beating is maybe half correct but don't bash the guy the dog definitely wasn't breathing and he cleared its airway are supplied him with air to get him breathing again just cuz someone goes into respiratory arrest instead of cardiac and someone gets them

I am so glad that I looked at this video. I also have a 4 year old Boxer named Maxwell that I love dearly & would give my own life for him. I always wanted to know how to give him CPR if I had to. When I watched this, yes, I got choked up & began crying. But, now I know what can be done in case of emergency. God bless you Ron!! & God bless Sugar & his owner. I hope that he is doing ok with the disease that he has.. What a beautiful Boxer he is!!!
Im no expert on animal CPR, but if you tried compressions even 3 times as hard as that on a human you would accomplish nothing at all. To me it seems like the dog recovered on its own.
@Dangerbean Obliviously you are no expert!!! seriously, when CPR is giving to a human you have to compress through the sternum!!!! so yes you have to push hard......in a dog you go from the side so the only thing there is is the rib. in all actuality in dog CPR you are suppose to give 100 compressions a minute.

This is so sad that she had to go through this. I would be terrified. It's reasons like these that i have taken a pet CPR training class. I encourage everyone with a pet to find a class near you or even watch a video online. It could save a pets life.
i think all dog owners should lern this, i cryed just watching this i have 4 boxer dogs,, and i think i wood of killed someone if that was me but the owner did very well as it clearly sugar is her boxer babe, and well done ron for stepping and in a bring sugar back, hope sugar is doing well now and so is the owner

I just did cpr today, on a small dog who wasn't breathing, and it was nothing like that. No compressions, lots of rescue breaths and vigorously rubbing his side. He came back, none the worse for wear, but his owner's guyfriend was pretty freaked out!

Okay yeah this woman is ridiculous, annoying, and disrespectful to the man that just saved her dog's life...but her reaction isn't that surprising. Most dog owners know very little about dogs and wouldn't have a clue what to do in a situation like that. This is a great video to show how important it is to know dog cpr and how it could save your dog's life. This video also shows how NOT to act, which is to never panic like she did. Her behavior could of easily stressed the dog out more.

I'm very surprised by the negative comments on this video. Emotional bonds between people and their pets can be some of the strongest there are, so the woman breaking down into a blubbering heap when she thinks her dog is DEAD, is not surprising or strange to me in the least. To me, it's expected. I'm surprised that so many people here think they would act differently in the identical situation. And stop being all butt hurt that she took 5 minutes to be with her dog before she thanked the hero.
