I remember when I went into a Vodafone store in Belfast and was told by one of the employees that WP7 was dead and Vodafone would never stock it again.
i have this phone. the battery life is so shit its unreal. i exchanged this phone twice coz i thought it was me with the problem. stick to i phone people.
@DopeMuzicEnt its ok i sorted it i used a old sim card and cut it down to a micro sim for now, ive ordered a new micro sim card but least i know its not my phone whats making it not work, the error message was the sim card is missing or invalid.
Nokia phones are terrible, Nokia got drunk on the arrogance of their dominant position in the market at the beginning of the 2000,s but then Apple came along and showed just how hopeless Nokia and its JOKE of an operating system SymbianOS were. They've been scrambling ever since..
windows mobile operating system is actually pretty slick. looks a lot more interactive than the iphone. But I suppose people will still go for an iphone.
am not sure about touch screen phones since my last one the motorola defy, i don't know if it was because it came motorola or the os on it but i notice these types of phones that the software is never built to last
:-D Picking mine up from Vodafone on the 16th, left O2 because they won't have this or many other windows phones. Their blind allegiance to Apple will cost them if they don't give their customers a choice.
Comes complete with Bing? I thought Bing was a search engine? I could access it from my smartphone. Nothing really new has been shown. It does everything the next smartphone does. And a lot of apps are £1.49? Not sold on it.
@jasonh1901 Bing in this does search, maps, music recognition(which is much faster than Shazam) local scout with restaurant reviews etc and turn by turn navigation. Bing is totally excellent I guarantee you will be very impressed. the rest of the phone is extremely user friendly. I have already a windows phone but would like the Nokia for the nicer design of the device.
This is a fantastic phone with the best build quality. Polycarbonate is fully ink injected so no more dirty scratch marks plus the best reception on any device. I can't wait to pick one up :)
Seems really scripted, could do with seeming a little less... robotic. But Vodafone, you absolutely make up for it with this phone. It's awesome, and I'd actually consider getting this over an iPhone. I don't have a smartphone, but so far only this and the iPhone 4/4S have made me want to get one. Great job Nokia! Who knows, Vodafone, I might come back to your network with this phone. :)

Also its difficult to get your data off the phone because it will only work with zune and windows 7 and even then zune dont work properly if you own a mac or other operating system based computer then DO NOT buy a windows phone you wont be able to take your photos or data off of it ! this is all from personal experience NOT just something ive read!
@circusunite There are also hundreds of improvements to the new Windows Phone OS that will benefit customers from any country and any network that can be utilised. Of course there will be features that may not be available in certain countries due to network restrictions or otherwise, however this can be said for other OS’s also. Bing Maps navigation can be used in the UK.
I’d suggest checking out Tom’s video for some of the latest features of Windows 7.5 :)
@circusunite Actually mate your wrong! If you paid any attention to the video above you would realise that this phone has sky drive which is like iCloud! So it couldnt be easier to sync all you devices (including macs). Even if your a bit old school, you could always just plug your USB cable into your phone and transfer data that way. I would be interested in discovering how much you actually know about the Nokia 800 and Windows 7.5 or are you still living in the stone age?
@SmackPixel as an Apple FanBoy - that was my concern until I saw the vid... not been tempted before to 'stray away from the fold' but the Lumia looks very interesting...
@circusunite Really not sure where you're getting this from. It's obviously *not* personal experience. I have an iMac, and use Windows Phone Connector with it. Getting photos and videos off the phone is easy as it automatically imports images into iPhoto. And even if you turn that feature off, you can browse the phone manually, and take what you want from it.
@circusunite Not being able to get stuff? You must be kidding. first it syncs up to 25G with the cloud for free so everything becomes available from any computer or your mobile. For macs there is an application you install. You can even sync automatically wiresly. It doesn't like outlook on your PC too much but who cares, all my emails are in the cloud. If you had problems I think check some tutorials and it will all make sense.

sorry but the windows phone os isnt as good as your making it out to be, most of the apps are not available to uk you cant use bing maps navigation as it only works for america, you cant re direct or forward calls you cant block individual numbers from calling you and i had a windows phone for 7 months and in the end i got so fed up with it i went over to iphone. these limitations are windows not the phone after arguing with microsoft its because the operating system is for business not home
@circusunite You obviously have not used this phone. I have been luck enough to briefly play with a pre-launch version and I can confirm that everything mentioned in this vid is accurate. I live in the UK and Bing Maps worked perfectly for me on the Nokia 800. Nokia drive is a great satnav too. In fact there were no problems with any of the apps I used on Nokia 800. The new Windows Mango 7.5 is making its debut on this phone and it is very impressive! I am a big Droid fan and I was blown away!
@Spintax123 Spot on. I'm not sure why Windows Phones seem to draw out the idiots who hate the OS just because "it's Windows lol". I was a very early adopter, and I've never been more pleased with a phone. It syncs up brilliantly with my iMac, and my Windows laptop, no questions asked. Something my old iPhone used to hate to do.
Oh and that new feature on the iPhones, with automatically saving contacts to the cloud so you don't lose them? We had that from the beginning.
I remember when I went into a Vodafone store in Belfast and was told by one of the employees that WP7 was dead and Vodafone would never stock it again.
