Attorney scandal? Where? The President can hire/fire whom he wants (although some must be confirmed by Congress). EVERY administration has does this. By the way, I'm a democrat.
Good for Harry Smith! As usual, Tony Snow blames the critics/questioners while flashing that "winning smile." His assurances that the "truth" will come out from this White House ring is preposterous. "Show Trial" is the buzzword for the US Attorney scandal the same way "Blame Game" was for Hurricane Katrina.
snow is good >> lies boldfaced on camera. what happens now that he's gone for a couple of months? where are they going to find someone equally as talented?
Way to go Harry! It's about time someone in the press stood up to these guys and their warped version of reality. We need more people not afraid to ask tough questions - and tough follow ups.
I haven't watch Smith in a long time...I'm impressed that he didn't let Snow do his usual "snow job" on him. By the way Snow, we want the truth... UNDER OATH.
the offer is a desparate attempt to avoid testimony under oath and in public. From a political stanpoint it would have been best for Bush to let Gonzalez go from the get go...or make no offer at all. That way either they get rid of the "guilty party"...or they simply "do nothing" and avoid appearing desparate.
"Snowjob" working overtime to cover for Bushies. Poor slob. He'll have a nervous breakdown before it is all said and done. There isn't enough B.S. in all the cow pastures in Iowa for Snow to shovel that'll cover the stink that has been emmanating from the White House since the bloodless coup of 1999. Impeachment - the only recourse that remains. Impeach Bush and Cheney and try them for war crimes for lying to the American people and Congress in order to start a war of aggression.
The Democrats should make NO compromises with slimy, criminal bastards! They are absolutely disgusting!
The ONLY reason someone refuses to go under oath AND refuses a transcript of what they say is because they plan on LYING and want no PAPER TRAIL! Do they really think Americans are as stupid as Bush??
Glad to see someone in the news not backing down on these important questions. I wish there were more like Harry Smith! I do not understand WHY Rove and Meirs and the others can't testify under oath. These people are paid with MY tax dollars!!! They are NOT above the law!! Thank you, Harry Smith!! Thank you, CBS!!!!

Snow said, "The Legislative branch has no oversight of the Executive."
I guess they didn't have a Civics course at his high school. That's one of the powers enumerated to Congress by the Constitution.
But Snow's boss, Dubya, says that the Constitution is "just a goddamn piece of paper!" so why should we expect anymore?

Tony Snow should do the honorable thing for himself and the country and just jump into a wood chipper.
