Surya skated outside of that box, and subsequently inspired a generation of skaters.

I commend you Surya for sharing your talent with us, and LifeSkate for catching up with her.

Loved Her BackFlip Landing on ONE foot mind you. It still bugs me that it doesn't qualify even today. I have had the pleasure of seeing her skate live 3 times. She is a refreshing delight!

Her ability and unappreciated performances made me stop watching womans figure skating. She was the female Scott Hamilton of the sport. Glad she gave her copper medal back the last time I watched. Brovo, Surya. Chen was awesome too!

She STILL lives with her mother, and apparently they coach "as a team" in Las Vegas.  Am I the only one who is really creeped out by Suzanne Bonaly. The woman needs to let go, my god!!! And doesn't surya have any pride.. she needs to tell her mom to fuck off so she can live her own life, it's very weird. Surya's career could have been much better without her idiotic mother.

It brought back memories form when I watched her years ago and just now I said she reminds me that she could be related to the Williams sisters but she was before them.
