  • this guy should do the weather forecast

  • Thanks for this video please post more like this one. I love to know how to pull pipeline for gas in kitchen if you have heater stove.

  • Blinds look like something you would see in a warehouse not in a home.

  • @Retro80Lady30 blinds are modern and very up to date now!!!

vertical blinds have the "office look" to me though!!

  • Curtains are easy to install compared to blinds rather not have the hassle, but if you don't have kids I guess you got all the time in the world to install them.

  • Factor in that kids bang them against the walll, and make loud noise for neighbors. I tore these out my windows in less than three months they were completely ruined, and can be expensive to replace. I also think they look ugly at least with cutains you can have any color you want, and less a pain to yell at your kids to leave them alone. Also kids can still stick their head in between the slats.

  • @Retro80Lady30 Control your kids then!!

Why would kids even touch them apart from opening and shutting?

You need to get them some toys!!

  • @cravena70 Well if you have kids you would know they mess with everything except toys at least mine do. They like the noise they make as well not every kids sits still like they are brain dead. Reguardless I just take them off, and throw curtains up that solves the problem much easier than getting stressed out about it. They are just an awful looking, and annoying trend of modern times in my opinion.

  • Using the Stop Clips on the draw cords is cheating, should be done properly to ensure the drops are at the correct finished level by "shortening" the blinds length.

  • Oh they make it look SO easy. hahaha! Hopefully the installation of my blinds will go as effortlessly!

  • Lowes always has the best instructional videos. This one was really great too. The cleats for child safety are very, very important to remember if you have young children as strangulation is a serious concern.

  • MADE IN CHINA, ENJOY.

  • cheap rubbish ! If you buy nice blinds measure by the retailer then you have no need for all this nonsense as the mneasure and installation is included in the price and IF he measures wrong/stuffs it up then it's his job to make right and replace it. !

He's making a 2 minute job look like an epic carry on !

1, Call 2/3 companies, 2, get price and have FREE measure done, 3, pick your company, do the deal and sit back and let it all get done for you PROFESSIONALLY !

    Decent effort though !

  • Have you seen the sliding venetian blind on the patio door/

  • how much should i charge to install 1 blind?

  • Guitarguy is very negative. I have "blinds in a box" that I bought at Lowes and installed myself over five years ago and they still look great. They are white, faux wood blinds. They haven't discolored or warped, nor have the strings broken. However, I also have special order blinds that I had professionally installed in a bay window about 4 years ago. Two of the strings unraveled and had to be replaced. Go figure.

  • Very helpful! Our new blinds didn't come with instructions. Thanks Lowes =)

  • AS USUAL WITH THE USA NO MESSING.I COULD HEAR HIM. I COULD SEE HIM AND I COULD UNDERSTAND HIM, WELL DONE USA WHY DONT THE UK LEARN FROM YOU AND STOP FINDING FAULT?

  • Box blinds are a rip off. With only 100 hours of UV protection. They will yellow and warp quickly. Leaving you to either redo the job. Or live with ugly blinds until they start to break apart. Check with You Local Blind Installers. They will have blinds with 300 to 500 hour UV rateing at compairable prices. Don't assume that it is better to do this youreslf. It's not a matter of Your ablilty to install them, most home owners can. It's a matter of quality.

  • This guitarguy is obviously a blind salesman. Ha ha, no pun intended.

  • Yes i have sold blinds for years. I know from experience that do it yourself blinds in a box don't last. As stated before it isn't about the homeowners ablility to install the blinds. It is about quality.

  • @guitarguy2007 Whether or not Lowes carries them, you can purchase the exact same blinds from warehouses online as installers can buy.

No problem asking which blinds manufacturer and line your blinds guy uses, get a quote, and then compare that to what you can find online or at home depot/lowes.

  • thx. tomorrow I will try to install myself.

  • is there any video about how to remove blinds???

  • Notice that they don't show the valances after they install them. They don't want you to see the 1/2" gap between the 2 valances. One of the may reasons to use a blins service. The main one is the quality of the product. The blinds found in a box at a box store are garbage. They don't have the proper UV protection. So the warp and yellow in a year or less.

  • Not really, you can order a one piece Valance that covers that gap and if you have a really with it Lowe employee like I do they know how to order the sizes so you don't even have that gap. Or you can get two blinds on one headrail so you don't have the gap.

  • You will not get a common valance with the blinds in a box like shown in the video. You can order custom blinds from them. But Why? You can have a local custom installer, install name brand blinds with a lifetime warranty for less than they charge for just the blind. You don't save any money when You install Your own blinds. You do save money if You use box blinds instead of custom blinds. You get what You pay for. And what you will get is a blind that will warp and yellow in less than 2 years.

  • I paid 122 for custom cut Levolor double cell blinds. No way could I get a custom installer to come out and do that cheaper.

  • @almetcalf The Levolor Cells in a Box will last about 1 year before the strings break or the material sags so bad you can't stand it. You accually pay more in the long run when you pay for them twice. The cost of low quailty always proceeds the joy of a low price.

  • thank you helped my handyman business

  • Thanks! Video helped me install myself!

  • wow lowes has a channel? nice now I don't have to read the manuals anymore!
