  • The lack of sound kind of gives these images an eeriness, but in a good way.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I'd like to interview you someday!

  • Thank you for posting this. This is American History!

  • Comment removed

  • wow i envy you.you were part of one of the biggest events of the 20th century.i'm sad that a woodstock movie with all the acts isn't out.no ccr or the band or melanie or many other performances or on the dvd.not even the director's cut.i saw santana doing evil ways and wondered how could they leave this out of the film.what a shame.

  • wish i could have been a part of this

  • Thanks for sharing man, it's a beautiful video..

  • Wow! Thanks for posting this. I would have given anything to see that Jefferson Airplane set that day. Absolute magic. Music nowadays is such a joke compared to what it was back then.

  • @TheAURIEMMA no reason to get bitchy here dude how am i supposed to know im 9 years old!?

  • Dam Hippies ill bring my krew an wel stomp you guys out!!! j.k. Hendrix was kool

  • Things for sure YOUR OLD!

  • Young people do your own thing, don't watch old vidios and wish you lived in those days, you didn't . You missed the Beatles, the peace movement, Vietnam , Woodstock ,hula hoops ,Rat Finks,Beach Blanket Bingo, Creepy Crawlers, Stick shift bikes,Superbees ,Mr Ed, Laugh in,Super Balls, Fizzies,Hippies,Yippies, Easy Ryder,15 cent cokes, Paper dresses, steel beer cans,Nixon, The summer of lust, Sgt. Pepper,Paul is dead,Ed Sullivan ,ect ect ect because if you lived in those days like I did then one

  • HEY,THAT'S MY MOM!!!!!!!

  • I was nine at the time. I remember the war,the Kennedy's,Martin Luther,Kent State, hippies and Life Mag. I didn't understand it all but I knew a lot was happening and everyone was speaking out. It was the kids that shouted the loudest and people wanted peace and really believed in love. We are still here. Imagine You Tube and Facebook in 1969? Thanks for the vid. Didn't know Ghostbusters was at Woodstock.

  • wow... All those people. All their for the same reason... It's just... Beautiful. And it still sucks that I'll never be a part of any thing like this...

  • Don't be so hard on stacybernardslay. As long as the young hate the old, there is hope for the future. No generation can ruin a country. It is destroyed because the succeeding youth let it happen, and they've been dormant far too long. I am thrilled they are getting angry, even if they blame me. If images of 3 days of peace, freedom, and happiness inspire a revolution, we did some good. If they need to euthanize me, I'll understand. To the young, you have great power to affect change...do so.

  • it is about to restart again.

  • @laneatlileden Whats about to restart again ?

  • @IxLoveXkelseyX gotta deep inside feeling that this summer you will see our government coming against the people in a Kent state kinda way. the revolution will be brougt by the spirit like you feel in this film and not by pepsi.we are waiting for the real woodstock and not the counterfit in bethel.if ya never have been and always wanted to go,well get your bell bottoms and granny dresses in gear. its here!

  • @laneatlileden I wish that were true.. I just don't see it happening. We don't have a hippie revolution like we used to, all we have is fakes wearing peace signs because they think its 'cute' when people like myself are wearing them because of the meaning behind it. I would love to bring back the days of free love, free drugs, peaceful protests against our bloody fucking government, and I'm trying. I really am trying. I'd like to see it happen in my lifetime, and I'm only 17 so I have time.

  • thank you for sharing this with us!

  • Love the shots. Thanks for sharing. Play it while listening to Harvest Moon by Neil Young. I think it flows nicely together. ;)

  • This is beautiful, man.

  • i know that sounds stupid; but who took care of the trash on the floor? did they clean after it was over...i mean hippies do take care of mother earth so... :)

  • Sex, drugs, rock n roll...peace, love, happiness, and just leave all of your freakin trash all over the place for other people to pick up, you inconsiderate little punks.

  • @apsscinc You ever been to a Phish gig?? you people do the same thing.

  • nice quality, actually

  • GRANDE EVENTO

  • wheres the nude girls?

  • super 8?

  • No. Regular 8mm.

  • @jlamay kodachrome?

  • they left a mess lol

  • Wow man you are extremly lucky to have gotten the chance to be there. Peace :)

  • 1969...Right before "love" became "fuck."

  • Thanks for posting this. I was only 10 years old during the Woodstock Festival so obviously I wasn't there. However this does bring back memories from my youth and I do remember the news reports at night from Woodstock. Looks like you had an interesting time there. Thanks Again.

  • thats awesome. I wish I could have been there(:

  • @stacybernardslay

How nice of you to let me know that you intend to "steal" my property for a film showcasing my generation's "selfishness". Perhaps when the film is completed, you can make a sequel showcasing how you became a "spoiled brat" who feels it's okay to "steal" from others. Ironically, that makes YOU the "selfish" one. Peace, brother!

  • @jlamay My father remembers this event very well he was born and raised in Bethel, NY & grew up in a ranch house on laymon road about a mile or two from where the concert happened. He was 17 at the time this was the summer before his senior year of high school. The town was SHOCKED at all the thousands of people coming in! This is surely one event he will never forget in his lifetime or anyone else who was at the festival or the people who lived in that area back then.

  • Wow you were pretty close to the stage.

  • 01:15, Carlos... : )

  • One of these days, I'm going to find a piece of home movie that shows me and my friends, and I will.... shit.

  • I was born in 66 so I was just a kid back then....60's and 70's were a great time to be alive man....pretty good zoom on that old 8mm camera too! Thanks for sharing..

  • I like the idea that u shot that without knowing anything about utube and computers at the time

  • @itnow umm a lot of people shot home videos before youtube and computers how old are you?

  • @octavoch was shot as a home video, NOT MEANING to be displayed on the net as it didn't exist then

I could be ur father so I've explained it again with patience, but it's the last time...if u r missing some neurons , have no time left to explain again...

  • @itnow LOL you could interpret your comment many ways im just saying that your comment seemed like a teenager asking the question i think thats whats hard about not actually hearing someone's voice in comments its hard to interpret exactly what someone is trying to say i merely interpreted the way i read it from my point of view

  • Great home movie

  • I'm so jealous... wish I could go back in time and be there

  • great shots! I love the insular view from the concertgoer's perspective...

  • Awesome video!!! I wish I could've been there

  • so you filmed this O_O

  • i guess nobody picked up the litter...

  • @niall005 i heard the local boy scouts did

  • wow, awesome footage of one of americas greatest moments

  • ur so lucky to have been there omg

  • Awesome!!!! Thanks for posting this...

  • This is very cute, thank you for sharing this with us!

  • Trippy shots of Grace and Jefferson Airplane Part. I was at the 40th and saw Jefferson Starship. But didn't compare.

  • 67th.

  • look how big that guys head is at 0:36 on the left

  • Great film..I was 8 yrs old at my grandparents summer house in Bethel/Smallwood and we got to see alot of the overflow of people and the psychedelic vehicles along the roads. A sight I will never forget,,wish I had been 10 yrs older so I could have gone to the festival..PEACE

  • Thank you for sharing this wonderful footage! Wow, would I love to have been there!

  • Is it strange to feel nostalgic for something that happened years before you were born?

  • @blazerAGD WELL, we all lived before

  • My god why couldn't i have been apart of this masterpiece :(

  • dude its been my dream to go to woodstock damm to see all the people and the expiereince ugh that wont happen again anytime soon ugh i wish they would though i wanna go!!!!!!!!

  • I thought everyone was all planet-friendly--look at all that trash! Ew!

  • Damn! thats history right there!

  • Beautiful! I was 16 at the time and lived in New York State. We were all talking about it; knew of people going, etc but to a private schooled Catholic girl the 130 or so mile trek was just too much for someone without a driver's license. Thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks jlamay!

  • Wow! That is so awesome! What was it like seeing Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix? I bet it was surreal!

  • Awsome, thanks for uploading this

  • Thanx for not picking up your trash!!And your children thanx you.

  • Out of all the woodstock footage I've seen (and I've seen a ton), this is the most poignant, beautiful, and nostalgic. just watching it in silence made me incredibly happy

  • Video simplesmente sensacional, apesar de ser caseiro e totalmente amador, faz recordar belos e bons momentos que na era de hoje jamais se repitirá, como eramos felizes e não sabíamos.

  • my dad was 15 when he was at woodstock 1969....i have his original ticket....oh the stories....we go to bethel every year to yasgurs farm....and we smoke a joint on jimi hendrix's grave in seattle on jimis birthday and we leave the roach on the stone.

  • @Fonniewoodstock1969 wow! good times huh?

  • @Fonniewoodstock1969 Bullshit!

  • @Fonniewoodstock1969 that sounds so incredibly beautiful!!!!

  • @Fonniewoodstock1969

    That's beautiful man.

    Peace brother.

  • It really is amazing with a crowd that large there wasn't any fights, especially with all the drugged up teenagers that were there.

I just can't see being there for 3 days with no food, water and being a muddy mess. I am sure that some of the music was great, but I would have to be high to endure everything that was going on.

  • there was no need for crowd control or heavy duty security because we didn't have all the built-in aggresion or a "fuck you" attitude. it's a sad state of affairs for the youth of today,,,where they actually fear each other. i guess the mother's didn't learn to teach their children well.

i wonder who, or what's to blame.

  • @iCHUCK69 Seriously man, I wish I could go back to those days, because I have a good attitude, and kids these days are always trying to prove something. Every single one of them, it's such a hostile environment.

  • @iCHUCK69 probably you guys since your our parents and all...

  • @lostindiancamp

While I wasn't there- I was 9 at the time- it seems as if the good vibe that prevailed there was basically a unique experience. All those hardships, all those irritations you mention somehow were transcended, but the Woodstock vibe didn't travel(though I might be slighting Britain and some of its hippie fests of that era).

  • no boobies or muff wtf

  • this is great footage...tks for sharing it.

  • you were a lucky man, do you know how many people wished they could have seen what you saw? well, me for one. was it AMAZING?!?!?

  • Great vid - shame there is no music?

  • i wonder where everyone took a shit at..

  • There were plenty of Port-a-Potties

  • @jlamay acually there werent... part of the reason that the govenor had to declare the area a disaster zone

  • @yammer123 there was not plenty of port o potties as one stated. It was a smelly mess. They were not prepared for it .How could there be plenty of potties.

  • @yammer123 Why were you thinking about shit?

  • @yammer123 We dug a hole in the ground, had a crap and then covered it with earth. We were very ecological. PEACE

  • @yammer123 Those Goddamn hippies took a shit wherever they wanted, those filthy no good bums, in the corn fields,in the lake,in ponds in their pants you name it

  • Wow, my generation sure was a bunch of litterbugs...

  • Great footage!! Did you see The Who in there prime? They would have been amazing, I wasnt even born but wish I was there to see it!!

  • Yeah - I saw The Who! They were great!! They're probably the best band I saw at Woodstock.

  • One of a kind huh? Nice stuff.. so you missed goin' to Vietnam?

  • By the the time I got to Woodstock...I had already server 4 years in the USAF.

  • @jlamay hey man did u see arlu guthrie im only 14 but i recently discovered his music from watchin these old movies??

  • jlamay, give the movie a different name, and don't mention Crosby Stills Nash and Young....the computer will not track it..and we will enjoy!..thanks brother for thsi wonderfull footage...I was 9 at that time..my sister 13..way to young..but i grew up with parents listening all day to this music..basicly most of them woodstock bands..

  • God Damn hippies. Hey ........ incredible footage. Got anymore?

  • Sorry - that's it!

  • thank you jlamay. THANK YOU!

  • Amazing! When all you have known for the past forty years is what's in the movie, seeing this gives it a fresh, unique perspective. Even without sound it is very interesting. Thank you for posting this.

  • man that was pretty cool seeing it from a diff point of view

  • i always tell myself i was conceived around this time, since i'll be 40 in april....

  • Great movie : ) Would have been interesting to know what soundtrack you would have chosen to go with it... ?

  • I actually have "It's Been a Long Time Coming" by Crosby, Stills & Nash on my original home copy - but when I initially uploaded the video, the copyright police jumped all over me - so I had to upload without a soundtrack.

  • Good choice : ) At least you have the original movie though, that's a real treasure.

  • That was fascinating, thanks for posting it. It's a shame for myself I was born 40 years too late for a festival like that.

  • Thank you

  • remember hitchhiking? yoi could get free rides from normal decent people even hippies around 1969-1975 but thats locked away for good in the museum of bygone American unique things. whose in greater danger today a hitchhiker or the person who picks him up

  • That was when littering was cool.

  • Priceless, really. Peace.

  • So rad!

  • Loved it Thanks for posting

  • whoa thanks for putting this video up its amazing that it was forty years ago makes me wanna be there

  • Oh dig the freaking freely for the Airplane....

  • thanks for sharing...

  • ha HA! cool

  • Nice footage. It's like looking in n history.

  • i was not there

  • Neat.

  • thank you. what a wonderful time that was.

  • Looks like a 69 Plymouth cop car at 3:12

  • Fantastic footage, priceless!

    thanks for posting.

  • i was there too! Can't believe you got this great footage and still had it. I tried to email you but i couldn't find a way to do it. I can't contact you through here because i don't have an account or the patience to set one up. i am on facebook .. ginger amelia perry. i'm not getting sound on this ... am i supposed to? Well .. congratulations.

  • 8mm film = no sound recording.

  • I was lucky just to get as close to the stage as I did - as you can see all I could get was a snippet of the Jefferson Airplane - and a brief shot of them passing out "breakfast in bed for 500,000"

  • WOW WOW WOW-- thank you for sharing- that is really cool-- and in color as well. Did you get any footage of any of the performers?
