*this is a complete humorous comment- but does anyone notice a resemblence in themes in this song similar to main guitar rhythm parts in Rick James' "Ghetto Life?" HAHA man Peter Tosh is the cat's pajama's!
grrrrrrrrrrrreat vid thanks for posting ;-) ....I know this is Sly Dunbar on drums and Robbie Shakespeare on bass is the rest of the band parts of The Taxi Gang please /??/
you havent really listen what jahlove426 is sayin have you? then why make a comment on it??? He's totaly right in that the musik business is a rip off for good aritists and that peter struggled thru it! I really dont get the point of your comment
peter tosh is da teacher and an amazing artist. Bt to be honest Bob Marley was better than him and surpassed him. I love Peter Tosh though. Der both in heaven looking down. Just bob marley was prophetic at times.
Tosh was a great composer with a very good team. The sound quality is amazing. The big difference between him and Bob Marley is that Marley took time to learn musical craft while Tosh did not. When Bob died in 1981, he was a millionaire. At the time of his death in 1987, Tosh was struggling financially. That's a great lesson for young Tosh who resembles his dad in every respect. Learn the business. Music has to do more with learning the craft of managing your talent than lighting up the stage
Get your facts straight. Amongst the group Tosh was the only trained musician who was taught by his aunt he could play multiple instruments. The Wailers was broken up by Chris Blackwell in order to feature Bob Marley and all great bands are known by their names - you hear of Mick Jagger & the Stones not just 'Mick Jagger' - it's time you idiots realize its the same ole story like the Supremes. Plus widout Familyman & Carlton Barrett Bob Marley would have been know where they were the musicians.
What r u saying? That Tosh invested well? Is not why? He was equally famous and made money, maybe even more than Marley. My point was in the way he handled his finances compared to Bob. It's clear that Bob knew a thing or two about that but Tosh did not. He was a multi talented person but he still needed to learn the craft of investing the money he made.
I'm not taking anything from Marley, but the real fact is that Marley along with Tosh and Bunny and the Barrett Brothers None were rich as Chris Whiteworst. (Better known as Chris Blackwell). Marley was rich in spirit. Not money. Marley didn't really get famous until he died. Peter Tosh Kept it real. Tosh stayed true to his craft. If it wasn't for Peter, there would be no Bob Marley. Don't care what people say. Peter Tosh was and is the man!!!
Why does it always have to be a financial thing when it comes to this? It's about talent and the love for the music. Nobody didn't even notice Bob until he died. Him and Peter both struggled to get recognition. Bob bent a little to get where he wanted by means of Chris Whiteworse. Peter was non-compromising and I love that. The Music business is really cut throat and Peter knew this. He went the right way of not compromising because that leads to surrender. Ultimate respect to Tosh!!!!
There's nothing to learn in the music business but to be a rip off person. I know. I'm in the business and I feel what Tosh was feeling and saying. I refuse to be a puppet to anyone. I manage my own money and do my own bookings. No middle man. I know I'm a target but I don't care. No amount of money can hold me.
This song brings me back to a day when I was like 8 or 9yrs old livin in Jamaica, me and my sister playin in the back yard and this was blasting from a bar up the road from where we lived, man vivdly remember that day.

Tosh already had his musical craft from JAH. So did Marley but Tosh was the one that went the extra edge.
