I remember being in 8th grade playing this, and my whole goal in life was to build a small stretch of the most elite roman houses, with the whole city geared to facilitate it. good times
anda boludo... si llamas eso perfecta ciudad...entonces los romanos se cagaron de hambre!!!.. no tenian 1900 habitantes.. sino que tenian mas de 10000!!... aprende a jugar vieja!!
I have a problem in this map, maybe someone can help me: when I have around 15000 of population, the houses, any kind of them, start suddenly to dissapear. Any solutions? Thanks!
@denisfrancob There is a sprite limit on PC version. The number of buildings are limited at 2000, the number of walkers are limited at 1000. In order to get a very high population, you need to increase the efficiency of your utilities. (So each building can serve more population). Either by designing a more compact block, or using some advanced techniques, like forced walker.
@denisfrancob Essentially, every building has exits/entrances (with certain preferred order). As a random walker exits a building, it travels a certain walking distance before turning back. And then when it turns back, it becomes a destination walker to the entrance of a building.
Hence If you place your road carefully, so there is only one single route a walker can travel from exit-to-entrance, then it is forced to walk that path. There are teachings on Caesar3heaven forum.
Your city is nowhere near perfect, it is also pointless playing without god effects as it defeats the purpose of the game altogether and produces no challenge to appeasing them. Even my cities are way more efficient than yours.
what software should I use to post a clip of caesar in youtube? I recently reached 100 ratings for all four of the categories and I want to share it.
you are making mistakes, your housing isn't singled out from the industry, thus it makes the design inefficient in terms of number of workers needed to maintain the houses, check out a small vid I've made regarding caesar 3, just search youtube for xfstef and caesar 3 and you'll see how a housing block looks like ;)
@XfStef Thanks for the comment. I agree that the housing blocks are not the most efficient, but I disagree that its because they are not ''singled out from the industry''. If you look carefully, none of the services (School, Temple, Barber, etc.) are located directly beside a road that serves industry. As such, the workers of those services are not wasting much time walking on roads that are not linked to houses. Nowadays, I built my housing into big squares. I saw your video, its creative.
Oups, I was wrong. I have one library that is connected to an ''industrial road''. And one thing that is definitely bad about my housing : the ridiculous amount of fountains I have. The tittle of the video was just pure fun; its definitely not a perfect city :) But im sure it can help some people plan better their city.
Yes they do, they can evolve a few more times. In order to reach the level beyond ''Large Insulae'' you need to supply the nearby markets with a second kind of food.
But beware, once the houses evolve beyond ''Large Insulae'' less people can live in a single house unit; which can result in employment problems and the necessity to have crappy houses somewhere in your city in order to boost employment. That is, unless you can find another way to solve the problem :)
@SpiritualBazar I think the employment problems beyond "Grand Insula" (not large), is because the people living in villa and place are nobles, and they don't work at all. Not because the number of people living in a building decreases. You always need civilians living below Grand Insula to provide labors. There is no way around that.
@adamxaiver Yes they do, large insulase upgrade into small villas then villas and then large villas, my brother managed to get a villa on one of his citys
@battle0001 Once you start a city, on the top left, you can find a option that let you turn ''Gods effects'' off. You still need temples to upgrade your houses, but the Gods wont get mad no matter what. I like to turn it off and concentrate on building a city that looks good.
My goal was only to built a small City that's looks good and is stable, not to build Rome. And Its obviously easier with no Gods effect. But Gods are just annoying :)

@countingtls Thank you! Forced walker would be something like creating an exclusive road with the accurate lenght for an engineer, for example?
