Gradius was before it started as Gradius zero is known ( Scramble ) in 1981 then Gradius released in 1985 in arcade ^_^

I personally prefer the grayer vic viper ship... the blue looks bad IMO

all vic vipers were painted blue since the old series to let you know XD

True, however the older designs had little blue... and most importantly, they didn't have blue on vipers fang thingies... the 2 extensions of it's wings, the thingies that are at the very front of it... I hope you know what I'm talking about...
Hell, if you look at box art, the vic viper almost always had little to no blue on it...

Ah... canon works... I've always called them fangs, because they kinda look like fangs... arms is just weird XD
Honestly, I'm one of those people who likes a more industrial look, but that's besides the point...
