I am a mailman in Estonia. The temperatures during eatly morning deliveries are sometimes -25F (-32C). The cold is rutheless, especially to your fingers and toes. As the temperature gets lower, the body concentrates on warming the internal organs. Uncovered skin may get damaged just a matter of minutes.
@kalvarsaad Yup... Sounds about right. My uncle used to be a mailman in Chicago. One morning the temperature fell to almost -30F. With windchill's almost -70. Lost a toe due to frostbite.
Some days we deliver in -15F or colder, so I wear a neoprene face mask with a balaclava over top of it. Tough part was finding a neoprene mask that didn't look like a skull or murderous clown!
I hear ya man! I'm a letter carrier in Branch 34 (Boston District). I know your winters are worse than ours but I hate the job in the winter! Those LLV's get stuck everywhere!

I'm a TE in Kansas City. I'll were ski goggles for a lot longer than 5 hrs a day! Phsshhh. 10 - 12.
