There's nothing wrong with at all. Topper Headon can play fast, intricate fills (like on I Fought the Law by the Clash), and ?uestlove is known for playing crazy, unpredictable rhythms during live sets. I've heard Josh Freese and he's pretty damn good.

I think what I'm trying say that as long someone can play a precise, consistent groove, then a song can work.

you're so RAD! when you're drumming make sure you're beating with your wrist and not the forearm.. i had this habit too until my friend showed me proper technique. if you develop your wrist you'll start to get real fast and rhythmic =]
