@christophcooneyoff Someone I know happened to explain what Plato's Cave was while in the bar during a philosophy society social the other day. I couldn't help but think of the lyrics to this song! Though I was only able to half hear what he was saying because I was in conversation with someone else simultaneously.

(i'm not actually a philosophy student...I just pretty much live in the bar XD )

@MagnusBruce It is an illustration for basically how we can't dissent from higher truth. The idea is that there are some people in a cave, and all they see are the shadows cast on the wall from outside. One of them goes outside, and see's the sun and a whole world. He can't go back into the cave and forget his mental revolution. Jack here's just saying that the people in the cave only believed what they saw, and not in other things. e.g Inaudible melodies x)

Don't know about you, but when I think about my own existence (When sitting around doing nothing) it makes me so depressed. Maybe it's good that we keep ourselves busy for a lot of the time.

@SGF08Y Really he's just saying that no-one believes in something unless they see it. So people rarely believe in concepts like hope. The idea of inaudible melodies seems, to me, like he is saying there is music all around us, it's just not in the traditional sense. The music is the hope and happiness in all the people :) this relates to plato's cave because hope never cast a shadow on the wall of the cave! It's really a very beautiful use of philosophy.
