Aww, what a beautiful video, thanks for sharing! He reminds me so much of my American Eskimo. She's a little smaller, but the way he acts with the snow, how much he responds to you (when you look at him, he comes to you, etc). Such an awesome breed.
Bravo! A wonderful video. Our boy Ike is our constant companion. I think he knows that we are a pack. We live in the city and his intelligent vigilance has already broken up one attempted car theft. We went to Denver not long ago and my wife left us on the street while she went to find some people we were trying to get together with. He howled because she was wandering away from the pack in this strange place. You should have seen the smiles his concern brought to the passersby...
Koda is adorable, and so happy in Alaska. We adopted our Eskie when he was almost 2, and we absolutely love him ! I admire your scrapbook, now if i can only figure out how to do something like that to record my dogs adventures.
@claudx13 If you have air conditioning and are mostly inside, I'd say it would be ok. If you are an outdoors type of person and want to take your dog out with you, probably not good for this dog. They LOVE winter and snow. But there are lots of wonderful breeds that do well in the heat :-)
We just lost our Eskie Zack to Lymphoma at 12. This video has helped me to remember all of the good times and how wonderful our life was before he got sick. And how happy he was. Thanks.
I have an american eskimo but he barks at strangers agressively and it takes him a bit before he calms down. did you guys ever had a problem with guests or strangers?
@vietstyle I have an eskimo and she does the same thing, the breed is just wary of strangers in general. I always have guests give her a treat and then she likes them. When I'm walking and she barks at others I just try to walk fast and ignore it. idk if that is best though.
Thank you for owning an all white dog and not freakishly obsessing over how clean it is! Dogs are animals and need to roll around in the dirt and have fun!
Love our Eskie to pieces too and he goes everywhere we go, especially on hikes. His name is Shadow. We had a female Eskie previously and had to say goodbye after 17 yrs (a good life). You are blessed to have such beautiful countryside in Alaska. Happy New Year Koda!
What a cute video!! I love how it is scrapbooked themed. I have an American Eskimo also... I absolutely adore her and she is the best dog ever. Thanks for posting the video!
I adopted my eskie mix when she was about 8 months old this video kinda made me tear up koda reminds me of my pebbles and i wish i could have had her from day one! pebbles is deaf and a bit digger but loves the snow and sits under the table at our feet just like koda :)
My Casper was a mini. Now when we aquired Bolt, the people that sold him to us SAID he was a mini. WRONG!!!! He is definitely a standard. He is bigger now at 6 months than Casper ever was.... yet he is still so puppyfied! He thinks he still weighs 5lbs. He launches himsef with a flying leap onto the sofa and on top of us. He's so heavy!!!! Silly puppy.
@fingerstylefan We lost our Casper in July. Had someone ever told me pet loss was comprable to human loss, I would have said they were crazy. ...... I have not recovered yet and I'm not so sure I will. My teenager is taking it VERY VERY hard still. I thought her going away to college would help, but I see her put pictures up on Facebook weekly of him. My 3yr old says Casper is a angel puppy. They're all so identical it's hard yet fun to watch others videos.
awesome video, thanks for posting. reminds me so much of my eskie Jake I had for 14 awesome years--he loved to camp, he loved to wheel in the truck, loved to ride in the kayak. came to work with me every day for the last couple years. miss him like crazy. enjoy the time you have.
@celiasongbird KEEP HER! my puppy was exactly the same way and now he absolutely loves us and our friend has his brother and he brings him around sometimes and they play together.. but the biggest mistake you'll make is giving her away
This video was very tough to watch. I also had an American Eskimo and we also named him Koda. He was born on June 18th of this year. He died this past week on October 26th. He was only a little more than 4 months. Koda was a beautiful dog and a wonderful companion. Losing him has been one of the hardest things my wife and I have ever dealt with. Watching this video, while tough, was comforting. Thank you for sharing. We'll miss you, Koda.
I have 2 Eskies. 1 is 12 the other 8, 1 is standard the other mini. The best dogs I have ever had. The sad thing is that are mini was a recue, that was going to be put down after previous owner gave her up. That was 4 years ago, and she never leaves my side. The funnest thing she does is after a bath, she runs up and down the baseboard to dry off.
Best dog I've ever had! Also loves the outdoors, comes horseback riding and quadding, and loves to get dirty. Despite his "mini" Eskie size, he's right along with me for 5k runs - never ceases to amaze me! Not to mention a world class cuddler ;)
This is an adorable keepsake of a movie. I too have an American Eskimo, almost two and I only have tons of photos but no video. Thanks for the inspiration to do one. Amazing editing and great song selection.
i want to thank you for this video, your dog is an exact mirror image of my dog buddy so when i see it , it brings good memories of him but unfortunately on may 9th 2011 he ended his time here with us at the age of 17. we attribute his long life with the love my wife and i showed him and as i see in the video koda seems very loved also so hopefully he will have a long life also.
This was perfect music for this video.. Juneau is 8, but I think I'm going to start video recording her more often.. She does so many cute things that make her as lovable as she is. I wish we'd have taken footage of her when we got her at 3 months.. Our baby Juju. Koda is adorable, and Alaska is the perfect environment for him. It's strange though.. Juneau hates water. Downright HATES it. You say, "Bath" and she freaks..
Such a cool video! Great job. Koda is so pretty. He looks almost exactly like our Eskie, Troy, although Troy is an 11 yr. old rescue (we've had him for almost 7 yrs. now). They are such wonderful dogs. So sweet and loving.

That was so cute I almost cried. Does anyone know if it's okay for dogs like this to live in the Los Angeles area? Or would it be too warm?
