  • Isn't the name is Yukihiro Yoko?

    He's wonderful!

  • WOW!! I wish I could play guitar like that, Those harmonics were craaaazy, I really enjoyed watching this video.

  • this is good but better than Williams?? give me a break. too many fretboard squeaks and how about the buzzed note at 1:30? still awesome though, don't get me wrong

  • Not everyone can be a robot like Williams.

  • How is flawless playing robot!?

    *Coughjealousycough*

John Williams plays with triple hearts, the the difference is that he doesn't do mistakes.. Not robotish.. Rather DIVINE!!

    I hate John.. -_-

  • who is this one playing here? Too much tension on his fingers...

    But very nice :-)

  • 轮指弹得太垃圾了,不过对曲子的感觉还行

  • Can I have the score for Sakura? please?

  • this is a good cover of "sakura" but to be more specific this is the cover of Micheal Lucarelli's improvisation of "Sakura"

    thank you,

    -philip randal trosko

  • Correction:

    The way the underlying feeling...

  • Yukihiro, you are a genius!

The way underlaying feeling of this wonderful song is translated via a more western instrument, it just reminds me of the fact that...

Japan, as a sosioeconomic structure as a nation might one day be no more, but songs like this carry the feeling, the essence of Nihon, and as long as there are people who know this song the beauty is never lost.

  • Beautiful, I purchased a GSP score of this as soon as I saw your performance!

  • cool... so relaxing

  • Excellent, I just got given this by my professor, hope I can play it this well.

  • ああ! すごいい! よかった!

  • very cool

  • you're good; practice it again at 50 on the metronome and you're gonna be awsome!

  • Ohhh man fabulously GORGEOUS MUSIC!!! BRAVO!!! MORE MORE!!!!

  • it's odd how at about one minute or so it begins to almost sound european... maybe it's just the effect of the guitar. but this is genious. he makes it sound like a koto at one point... truly incredible.

  • this is so soothing and peaceful to listen to after a hard days work

  • Beautiful

  • wow, japanese folk songs sound really nice on acoustic guitar

  • I am currently learning this song with my teacher, Dr. Matthew Hinsley. Wonderful rendition.

  • I checked out your teacher on web. So, you are studying in Texas. There are many good players and teachers in the southern states. Good luck!

  • you don't need teachers

  • whoa!!! How did you find out how to play this...on your guitar, are there any tabs or anything?

  • It is published by GSP in the US. I don't think there is any tabs.

  • you don't need tabs

  • OMG no offence but this is from an old NES Game "Mike Tyson's Punchout". It is used as a calling card for the Charactor "Piston Honda" a boxer from Tokyo

  • you should get out more.

  • Ignorant swine, this man has more talent in his pinky finger than you've amassed in your entire lifetime.

  • lol

  • really nice. Thanks!

  • A Happy New Year to you, too.

This kind of "Koto" music is often heard in Japan on New Year's Day.

  • Great! Loved it! Say, do you play the tremolo var. with p i m i ? It looks like it but I'm not sure!

    Respect,

    Peo

  • I knew someone is going to comment my pimi tremolo! I don't always play that way, but for me, it is easier to control.

  • Yeah, it sounds OK so; why not! Thanks for sharing.

    Peo

  • Very good. But it could sound more the mysticism of Japanese culture.

  • I am from Japan, but it has been so long since I left there...
