It doesn't cost hundreds of thousands to get an engineering degree. It CAN cost that much but isn't even close to required. I went through Purdue for ~$8000.
I'm assuming you're talking about my tuition. No, I graduated in 2002, starting in 1998. I'm from Indiana so I got in state tuition and my mom works there so I got 51% off and 20% off books.
An engineering degree should take 4-5years to complete, but even at Vanderbilt with the total cost of attendance around $40k per year if you pay the full sticker price of tuition it should not cost more than $200,000 at the top end. But for most people, even Vanderbilt is priced competitively with a (very outstanding) school like Purdue. These kinds of projects are stress relievers for undergrads, but help them develop nice professional skills. They are meant to be fun.

This is true , I am going to McGill for 3k a year but I mean in general !
nickmanc86 3 years ago
Ah, ok. You'd be surprised how seriously companies take this contest. Also, I meant $8k total, not per year.
cawpin 3 years ago
I will have to keep that in mind !
