  • PLANT - GILLAN - DIO is holy trinity of skill and charisma in rock singing.

  • Gillan is he BEST!!!

  • roberttt is the best rock vocalist ever!!

  • two fun facts: 1.Gillan and Plant are good friends. 2. Gillan's wife is a hardcore fan of Plant.

  • Robert Plant

  • GILLAN

  • prefiero escuchar los fritos de deep purple como que son mas rokeros

  • And those aren't highest notes of Plant in this video, so its very biased.

  • Dio-Gillan-Plant, those guys were magic, none else is even close.

  • Gillian by far. No argument.

  • 1. Gillan (1969-1985)

    2. Plant

    3. R.J. Dio

    4. Ozzy O.

    5. Hughes/Coverdale.

  • @Cuoricine7 Haha Ozzy. The rest I agree with are amazing vocalists. But seriously Ozzy doesn't have a very impressive range at all. And why didn't you list Dan McCafferty, David Byron, and John Lawton. Clearly all of them could easily replace Ozzy's position especially if you think specifically in terms of vocal range. Ozzy has a great voice and I really like his style, but range wise as I said not very impressive. And yes I own all of Ozzy's material.

  • Gillan all the way.

  • @Drumguy1988 00:21 BRUTAL BRUTAL BRUTAL BRUTAL

    BRUTAL BRUTAL

  • steven tyler is the best singer loud and low....and has alot of control, robert plant is the best singer aswell in the classic genre.......straight rock though steven tyler no doubt.he does soft stuff too and very well

  • @hermit272727 Steven Tyler doesn't have a very impressive low range at all and his high vocals are pretty well all in falsetto not head voice or full voice which is a much harder technique to execute. And his regular singing voice is well the reason new music sucks. Don't get me wrong I like Steven's music but to catagorize him as one of the greatest is a misinformed comment from someone who obviously doesn't study vocals or is actually a vocalist.

  • Both were fucking gods, my two best singers by far!

  • no doubt plant best !!!!!

  • Ian Gillan,Nicer tone,superior range,Still Rockin´

  • Gillan with Purple and Plant with the Zeps - try to change them and it simply would not fit. No Purple without Gillan - No Led Zep without Plant. And please don't forget Dio next time ;)

  • Gillan, i remember first hearing Robert Plant and thinking he was great, but when i first heard Ian Gillan (the first song i had lsnd to was Bloodsucker) he blew the crap out of me in every possible way,his performance on Child In Time on In Rock also drove me mad at how a human being had such power in his voice,Long live Rocknroll

  • team Gillan

  • Gillan simply destroy Plant and any other singer of this world...

  • I'm in gillan's side, but the second can only be plant

  • Of course is ROBERT PLANT he is BETTER than ian, ian sucks

  • @Bonzo77d ahahahaha! very funny and out "of this world" comment...

  • Gillan, Gillan, Gillan! Vocal range! Ian Gillan Band!, Jesus Christ Superstar!!! ...............& even Black Sabbath! Plant is an accomplished vocalist! But he ain't the Master!

  • robert plant very best

  • I vote Gillan over Plant. Hands down. I also think Dio had the best voice in rock music. Period.

  • number one-ROGER DALTREY,number two-ROBERT PLANT,number three-IAN GILLAN......NONE of them could have sung in the others band but were PERFECT for the band they were in-and all three are unbeatable......shaping rock for those who came later.

  • PLANT,of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PLANT!!

  • nothing to compare both are the best vocalists ever

  • Gillan for power

  • Both different in approach both astonishing singers...Personally I love them both the are the kings:)

  • for me

    Master Gillan

  • fuck ... gilian has more power than plant... but i dont know... its hard choose.

  • For me,it is Gillan but Plant has this what we called "sexiness"in him not that i don't find Gillan sexy as well ha ha ha !

  • I always don't like this kind of comparison, because I think each singer has his own style, and often it's difficult to say if someone is better than someone else, mainly if we are talking of living legends like these two guys.

Anyway, I love Ian Gillan, at his best time he had an incredible voice, and I don't think Robert Plant could have managed to hit the highest note of Child In Time....

  • Gillan did it longer and better than Plant, better range and more powerful. Gillan is the best ever !!

  • Gillan! Best Rock man ever!

  • <3 I'm in love wih Gillan, guys! O.o Plant and Gillan are both great and have a different style...I can't choose...

  • Gillan!

  • Gillan had a truly great voice. Very underrated. He was every bit as good as, and in many cases better than: Dio, Roger Waters, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury and Jim Morrison among the all-time great rock singers. He could have sung any kind of music: Broadway, soul, opera, rock, blues, pop, and probably even country. Fantastic. Thats Why He Is #1 Rock Vocalist All Of Time. GILLAN ALL THE WAY...

  • I Think the best of all times are unquestionably Gillan and Plant ... and don't mean shouting.

  • NOT "HE COULD HAVE SUNG" BUT "HE SANG"

  • @takoGillan777 plant best !! .. ase rom chuuu = ))

  • @takoGillan777 you are notright saying "He could have sung "...in fact HE SUNG all these kind of music and many more...just liseten carefully to his solo discography...None in this world is better than Gillan....he even invented a vocal techinque among many things he did...

  • Plant.

Gillian had a better scream. But plant definetly was untouchable 69-73 with his voice.

Gillian had one of the best voice though no doubt!

And honestly i dont think they should be compared.

  • Gillian is a better singer and frontman than Plant . I would put Daltrey as the greatest singer/frontman. There are many other singers/frontmen better than Plant. Bob Segar, Hagar, David Lee Roth, Bowie, Dickerson, Scott Wieland, Jagger, Joe Lynn Turner, Burton Cummings, Brad Delp, Alice Cooper and on and on

  • @MrTrajan69 I agree but not David Lee Roth. He's nothing special in my opinion. A great showman but an average singer at best.

  • to say who's better is stupid...in fact is so clear than Gillan is much superior than Plant...poor Robert...

  • gillan no tiene comparacion en su tiempo, es el mejor!!!!!

  • that gillan scream is from strange kind o woman....but which version is it ?? its not the made in japan one....the scream here is off the charts its awesome....any idea which show its from ??

and also, a bad comparison. you cant compare a C5 scream by plant ( in head voice) with a falsetto B5 (i think) falsetto wail by gillan

  • Surprising Concert in Sheffield on 10/05/1971

  • fucking awesome scream here from Ian Gillan!

  • Plant

  • Two of best singers in Rock!

In my opinion Gillan is better.Child In Time: just astonishing. . .

  • como se llama la cancion que esta cantando robert plant

  • Immigrant song

  • Gillan, of course!!!!!

  • @IanGillanGurl

    hallelujah!!!

  • @ElwoodBlackmore

    Superb ! \m/

  • gillan el mejor !!!!!!!!

  • plant is shit in live sucks i cant listen he in live, he is a lie, ian gillan is god, deep purple is the best band ever, made in japan is the heaven

  • this is so funny! ive heard the real shit from both of these cats and plant is king. immigrant song aint shit as far as displaying his range.

  • You Can't do it

  • they both are great

  • gillan has the edge.

  • GILLAN

  • GILLAN! No argument! Gillan is the best.

  • You should have placed the big vocal solos they both did. For Plant, Immigrant Song, a part in Kashmir when he screams beautifully for a LONG time, the start of I Can't Quit you Baby, a part in Going To California, the end of Battle Of Evermore, etc... For Gillan, obviously Child In Time, the Na-na's in Hush, parts in Burn, parts in Mistreated, a part in Strange Kind Of Woman, etc... Plant's solos are more different from each other, while for Gillan, they're much similar, but harder to do...

  • Whoops, it's true! Gillan didn't do the song Hush, that was MKI....

  • Burn and Mistreated aren't gillan's. They are Coverdale's. Other great gillan's solos are Space Truckin', Fireball, Speed King, Pictures of Hell and Highway Star.

  • You officially owned me!

And learned that before you told, a lot happens in 3 months...

  • Same thing for Hush... But it was Rod Evans...

  • @LinkBulletBill You also know nothing about music. Listen to all of Gillians material from all of his projects and then try and tell me he sounds the same in every song. Robert plant is one of the most easily distinguishable voices of all time. His voice is either quiet or loud. A few songs sum up Robs range where as for Gillian you need all of his songs. Robs range in a nutshell. Kashmir, Thank You, Friends, Stairway to Heaven, and Immigrant song. And yes I own both musicians entire discography

  • @hermygagala

I know nothing about music?? You don't even know me. And if I mentioned some songs for both artists, that means I do know something... and wtf? that was 2 years ago. The thing isn't to go show your skills in all songs to the maximum or show all your range... hm. So what is your exact point? that is opinion-based anyways.

  • @LinkBulletBill Well you were saying that from song to song plant sounds more different than Gillian from song to song. Gillian is a far more versatile vocalist, being able to vary his voice to the extent that you can't tell it is even him singing. And to name songs doesn't mean that you know anything. Anyone can look through a bands discography and name a couple of songs, or all of them for that matter. You are obviously not a vocalist if you can't tell that Gillian is by far the more versatile

  • @hermygagala

No, I can tell now, but there both still bloody good singers in the end. I would want any and would be hard to pick between the two for me, if i had to choose a vocalist, and would take them both haha, but anyways that was 2 years ago, now you made recall... a bit, but was when I started listening to both bands. Now I'm listening to Classical music, Chopin and Liszt, for the moment more than Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. Liszt's Un Sospiro and Chopin's Scherzo No.2 Op.31! :D Beauty!

  • @LinkBulletBill What do you mean by "No, I can tell you now"?

  • @hermygagala

I mean, I can see now the difference between Plant and Gillan... like I can tell now that I was wrong. There was no "you".

  • @hermygagala Plant and Gillan are the best.

  • BAD BAD AUDIO!!!! Especially for Plant, you are making him sound bad... Ian Gillan is better, but still, no one is better, they are both good, the thing about Gillan, his voice will always be the same for every song, while Plant, in almost every song he sounds different but similar, you can hear the big difference in his voice, but you still know that it's him, like the singing voice in Immigrant Song compared to Kashmir and to No Quarter and to Stairway To Heaven, all different, but 1 singer...

  • @LinkBulletBill you're fucking kidding right? You know nothing about music. Gillian was a much more versatile vocalist. Gillian rarely sounded the same from song to song. Robert Plant was either sounding like he does in Stairway to Heaven or Immigrant song. That basically shows his entire range in those two songs. Gillian is one of the most versatile vocalists of all time him along with Dan McCafferty. You obviously haven't heard many Gillian songs. You know nothing about music.

  • Ian Gillan! Forever! (But Percy is ok!)

  • Robert Plant before 1973 had NO match.Not Gillan,not marriott,not Joplin

  • Love Percy, the Golden God :)

  • Gillan but shitty vid

  • jaja, if you give me the videos of the concerts, I inclose it. a hug

  • Gillan is the best and will be always!

  • Are you serious bro? Gillan!! Obviusly!!!
