  • most beautiful woman I ever seen.. desire to meet her

  • I just love rita forget women like jodie marsh and katie price Rita had class and was so pretty.

  • Jessica Rabbit, eat your heart out

  • ladies from that time was much better and sexy from todays

  • she was my idol when I was a child...

  • She had a class!!! :))

  • very beautifull lady

  • @GWTWrul i agree with you i had that book and i dont believe her i mean barbara

  • Perfect. Thank you much. It put me a dreamworld of sweet delight.

  • There will NEVER be another Rita Hayworth. No woman on screen or stage will EVER compare to her. Journalists must stop writing bullshit about it. There NEVER was - and there will NEVER BE - a woman like Rita Hayworth.

  • @Briannajonas3>>YOU ARE QUITE RIGHT THERE. most females if you can call them that are very loose and slutty, hard faced tramps . I wouldnt say all of them but most in film and television are these days!! NO class !

  • 11 people deserved to be put a blame on !

  • was very romantic. Just listening to her singing and strumming that guitar is better than sex. It's not that she was beautiful but also sweet and sensitive and above all still a woman. What i also liked was when she was interrupted by Glenn Ford(Johnny Farell) and said " you look very pretty in that night gown" instead of using the word sexy. This movie leaves things to the imagination. Something today's movies don't and will never do again.

  • @sakusia Rita was beyond beautiful

  • She's the epitome of femininity. No woman will ever come close in my opinion. Sure there are beautiful women but after you see Rita Hayworth play the role of Gilda you will never look at a woman the same way again. Even Madonna payed tribute to Rita Hayworth in the song Vogue which goes to show you that she couldn't compete even if she wanted too. This movie is pure, simple and clean. Not once did i think about her in a sexual manner. That's why she's so pure for me. That scene with the guitar..

  • Was she drunk in first scene?

  • Hahahaha! We men are such fools! Someone shakes a little booty in front of us and we turn into babbling idiots!

  • @roadyrider i havn't a problem with that. do you ?

  • 3:15 haha :D

  • her voice is magical... she is magical...

  • wonderful!!!

  • Great movie, beautiful Rita Hayworth.

  • The anticipation of her getting the glove off one of the sexiest moments. Some of these young singers need to take a lesson about what sexy really is all about. It isn't about appearing half naked and making lewd gestures onstage.

  • i saw this actor in "The Shawshank Redemption 1994" movie

  • SHAWSHANK

  • INSUPEREBLE

  • i love how Michael jackson put her in This Is It

  • @Briannajonas3 that's because Michael Jackson had taste in women, and i'm sure he didn't like all these know it all crude and slutty women you see much of today.

  • rananim3! I agree! I`m a woman, but I agree! She was the sexiest woman in all time!

  • Simplesmente MARAVILHOSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Classica cena...belissimo filme do cinema-noir. Rita é simplismente lindddddaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • i love her smile

  • If you watch the "Put The Blame On Mame" dance number closely you'll notice that Rita's bosom doesn't move when she raises her arms, this is because costume designer Jean Louis lined the black satin bosom area with plastic. Rita was at the peak of her beauty in this film. Being a movie star and having that kind of beauty made her the ultimate love goddess in the 1940's. R.I.P. Rita...You Left The World Some Wonderful Images Of Your Breathtaking Beauty !

  • Look at her.......she was HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rita was the sexiest woman to ever live.Hotter than hot.

  • @rananim3 Rita Hayworth + Marilyn Monroe = mmm... i can't imagine...

  • GORGEOUS!!!!!

  • rita had class she was very pretty i share the same birthday as her.

  • My alltime favorite movie! I love it!

  • Not bad for three months pregnant!....

Fuck you fascist!!

  • RITA.....GREAT STAR FOEREVER........MY FATHER PUTS HER NAME TO MY SISTER......HE IS A FAN OF RITA HAYWORTH,,,HE IS 83 YEARS OLD.......AND WITH THE PERMISION OF MY MOTHER HE LOVES RITA ...STILL

  • shaw shank redemption

  • Rita Hayworth set the bar very high for all women who have followed!

  • a smooth criminal *.*

  • asa arata femeia femeie.bravo

Saludos!

  • @MsMariah61 Dont be stupid. Me i be clear?

  • Who sang for Rita Hayworth in this movie? I know she really did not sing in most

of her movies...but she sure was beautiful.

  • saw her in shawshank redemption and had to look her up

  • @MsMariah61 I know what you mean, other european actors like Catherine Zeta Jones and Victoria Beckham( before i recognized her as just posh spice) i thought were not white either, maybe they have mixed backgrounds.

  • @xxkarinaaxx the fuck? how are they not white?

  • @xxkarinaaxx I always thought Catherine was Spainish but she's actually Welsh !

  • @slvazquez Yes, Welsh. ^^ I did not know what Welsh was before, but I learn now. One singer I like is also Welsh. Jem- They, Jem- Just a Ride. Catherine and Jem could be sisters. Sorry for my English, I am still learning. Hihihi.

  • Love the nightclub scene should be more of it.

  • I just love her! So godforsaken beautiful.

  • @MsMariah61 In the end we're all from Africa.

  • @MsMariah61 Italians white, of course, what other "race" shall they be?

  • @MsMariah61 I think, generally, people in Europe prefer to relate people to their nation, Salma Hayek - a beautiful woman from Mexico, Jennifer Lopez - an American with roots in Puerto Rico. The term Latina or Latino usually refers here to people from Latin America, naturally, but since there are also quite a few people of diverse origins (e.g. Gisele Bündchen - German) now the word is quite dated. The term "hispanic" doesn't even get used in Europe, only in the US.

  • @MsMariah61 "both whites and hispanics want to claim rita" - I very much agree. It's like gays trying to claim Cary Grant - every "group" needs a famous & popular representative.

Here in Europe Penelope Cruz is considered white, so she is not considered so in the US? Aha. But the skin colour is not really a reliable indicator. My cousin (of northern German origin) has light blonde hair, blue eyes and all, yet, she is the one that gets the strongest tan in my family!

  • @MsMariah61 I don't want to fight, either, and I didn't say that there are no "non-white" beautiful women. Of course there are! It's not Rita's fault that she happened to be white and looked so gorgeous. I'm merely allergic to people saying Rita got discriminated. There is an interesting article online called "The Rape of Rita Hayworth", it describes how Rita gets used by "Hispanics" nowadays for their purposes.

  • @MsMariah61 Yes. Why not?

  • @MsMariah61 You were the one saying whites don't discrimante whites. And I simply came up with an example to tell you that this is not true. You used the word "hispanic" as opposed to white. Wikipedia: "Hispanicity, which is independent of race, is the only ethnic category" - so this term is not even about race! Rita herself never said she was "hispanic". In the documentary she uses the word "Spanish"!!! And she was proud to be a half Spaniard! She loved Spain, especially Barcelona.

  • @MsMariah61 Again, Rita's hair was dark brown, they dyed it midnight black early in her career, then red (different shades of red throughout her career and in later life) and also blonde. I think you should first think of what defines the term "hispanic". Funny, English wikipedia lists Rita as "white Hispanic", haha.

And are you aware of how many Germans got discriminated in the US after World War I & II? Why do you think did so many Germans anglicize their family names?

  • @MsMariah61 For the record, Rita's hair was dark brown. And of course then later on they dyed it red and even blonde! But are you saying all people with black hair are "hispanic" (which is a pseudo term that didn't even exist in Rita's heyday)? What about people from Italy, Japan, Germany etc. who happen to have black hair?

But it's no use "discussing" with you. Your ignorance and use of certain words tells volumes about your immaturity. Have a good life with it.

  • @MsMariah61 Are you asking me to repeat the same over and over again? Rita didn't face discrimination like you obviously do. For the dance numbers with her father and her early roles at Fox and in her B-westerns she got her dyed midnight black so that she would look "exotic". For not getting stuck playing Mexicans all the time they then "glamourized" her. Hollywood make overs were always common and will always be common. Cary Grant's or Lana Turner's hair lines weren't natural, either.

  • @et7waage "she got her hair dyed midnight black" - I had forgotten the word "hair".

  • @MsMariah61 Margarita Carmen Cansino is a typical Spanish name. (You do know that the language "Spanish" developed in Europe, don't you?) Spaniards like Rita's father are white. It's really ignorant what you're writing. So your post doesn't make sense.

  • @et7waage They're not all white. There were a lot of Arabs and Jews living in Spain for centuries before the monarchy decided they didn't want them there anymore. A lot of integration happened before then though.

  • @Darksunshinerain87 Yes, this happened mostly all of the mediterranean countries. Here in France we have statues and insignias of those past times by them. Sorry for my english.

  • Down with the Ke$ha-like skanks, bring these classy dames back, amirite fellas?

  • She was damn hot!!!

  • The voice belongs to jazz singer Anita Ellis.

  • Beautiful in the extreme ! The studios never allowed Rita to learn to sing and so overdubbed her singing voice! She always resented the studios for this control & we will never know if she could sing!

  • this part of film was in Shawshank redemption movie :-)

  • What a beauty!

  • she's the love of my life.

  • Unica ed inimitabile

  • Fantastyczne kiedyś były Filmy. Wspaniała Aktorka, jak i zarówno pięknie śpiewała. Wspaniałe kręcono wtedy Filmy. Pozdrawiam:))

I must have watched Gilda a 100 times!!

  • RIta always will be one of the best woman for me..

As she said "people fell in love with Gilda and wake up with RIta".. it's so true to me..

  • Love those pits... FETISHES!!!

  • In my next life I want to be Rita Hayworth. Perfect 10!

  • NOBODY SINCE HER HAS EVEN COME CLOSE TO TOUCHING THIS WOMAN"S TALENT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM~!!!! She's the only woman I've actually gotten CHILLS for....LOL....and I'm the straightest chick you'll ever meet!!!

  • magnifica

  • indeed, a singular sensation.

  • My grandma looked just like Rita when she was 18. I'm so freaking jealous xD

  • My Favorite Film Noir.

  • I love her too but just so you know she was not a singer, the singing is dubbed in all her movies. But she is absolutely one of my favorite dancers of all time and the best bombshell icon

  • thank you Rita! I think you are the most beutiful actress in Hollywood for ever! I love you and I always do!

  • justa say they used sex better in the olden films and they never showed it thats why it was better than the films today. one flick of the hair is enough or an eyebrow , people are running outta things to wrote so they use full frontal nudity all the time now

  • super sexy ! Rita, Rita, we love you !

  • she's hot no doubt. Not sure about the song though. The san francsico eathquake was terrible

  • A lot less concern about pc re:natural disasters. It was thirty years or so later and not as though it was two weeks.

  • Try singing about the holocaust and blame it on your hair' mojo rather than hitler's..I'm sure it'll be a hit

  • Not to continue an arguement, but to clarify-I was stating the mindeset of that time period, not agreeing with it.

  • Thanks for clarifying. The mindset of that period seems to glamorise and gloss over the tragic past. RH apparently was a pro lip syncher! and a convincing one too. She never actually sang in any of her movies. Things are not what they appear... Mulohand Drive, watch it

  • HHOOOTTT!!!!!!

  • She was freaken hot ! Nowadays you don't have real women like her anymore. I mean REAL WOMEN !

  • How did they stop the film from igniting when they photographed this legendary lady?

  • that's prab the classiest comment I have ever read on youtube, couldn't have said it better....

  • wow its amazing to know she was pregnant here

  • Rita Hayworth is awesome.

  • Where's Michael? LOL!

  • Irish and Spanish descent. Spain is en Europe, you know.

  • You are the only one who is being impolite and rude. I never called anyone an asshole.

    Enjoy your mexicanness.

  • @drkmid I don't know what you mean with your comment. But i have things ti be proud to "enjoy my mexicaness?" Actress like Dolores del Río, Lupe Vélez, Miroslava Stern, María Félix, Katy Jurado, Salma Hayek and many more Divas XD

    Bye.

  • She was Anglo-American Hispanic

  • She was Anglo-Irish Hispanic

  • You guys just don't get it!!!

  • Einfach schön! Simply beautiful!

  • It was absolutely amazing Michael Jackson mixing "Smooth Criminal" with this movie and Humphrey Bogart. It was part of his This is it concert and he played a part on it. The best idea!

  • Michael Realy have style to make her part of his shows. She also is realy amazing.

  • Michael? you mean Michael Jackson?

  • yes I mean Michael jackson. I was talking about the film this is It from Michael Jackson. There is a part of this film in it.

  • when i go to the "other world" if she is there singing and looking as she always did...i would know I was in heaven! She is a GODDESS!

  • Rita Hayworth was in a league all her own. She was so talented and very beautiful.

  • @msladymarch would you guys just STOP teaching your grand parents how to comment on utube?!

  • most beautiful woman EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • everything about this movie is hot....timeless classic

  • Pure, classic, natural beauty! These beautiful women did not need bottox, sylicon or any other surgery! They were natural and at the same time very talented! They were truly great stars... Amazing scene!

  • @loolabal . Actually she had electrolysis (hair removal) to broaden her forehead and she also dyed her hair and changed her last name to fit in more with the American crowd. So in a way she did what many celebrities do nowadays just not too extreme and she actually DID have talent.

But yes you are right, because women of that time were more natural and beautiful. She has a healthy, normal body and looked georgeous. LOOK AT THOSE HIPS!!!

  • @loolabal Rita IS gorgeous, but it isn't true that she didn't use plastic surgery. She used electrolysis to raise her hairline, and her red (and later, blonde) hair came from a bottle of dye. Make-up artists spent hours on her, to make her look "less Spanish." Sadly, in those racist times, being "American" meant being white and Christian.

  • @roxusan Quite right. If you want tosee her as she really was, watch Charlie Chan In Egypt. When I first saw it as a kid I had no idea it was Rita.

  • @roxusan Rita WAS white and a Christian. Just for the record.

  • @et7waage There are "white" Latinas and Spanish ladies, for the record (but if you really want to get technical, race is a social concept, not a scientific one.)

Hollywood and the viewing public did not view her as "white enough" until she went through that painful cosmetic procedure to raise her hairline. Only then was she considered "white" enough to be a leading lady.

  • @roxusan If you're implying that Rita faced some kind of discrimination, you're mistaken. In the mid 1930s there was a Latin craze in America (also in Europe) and especially in Hollywood. Everything exotic was welcomed which meant that Rita had to dye her brown hair mid-night black to look more Spanish. Then she was stuck playing Mexicans in B-westerns so another makeover followed. All stars had some kind of makeover. Cary Grants or Lana Turners hairlines weren't that natural, either.

  • @et7waage Rita Hayworth faced discrimination: she had to look "whiter" to get roles her "whiter" peers took for granted. As for the "Latin craze," Hollywood often fetishizes "nonwhite" cultures (see: Anna Mae Wong and the dragon lady craze), but almost never hired minorities to play minority roles (see: yellowface, blackface.) The 30s also marked a peak time for anti-Mexican sentiment. Many were deported during the 30s, including those born in the United States (and were US Citizens.)

  • @roxusan Your emphasis of the word "white" sounds as if Rita had to whiten her skin like MJ which she didn't do, the opposite was the case when she played an Egyptian in "Charlie Chan in Egypt" where they put dark makeup all over her. So they dyed Rita's hair - lots of actors and actresses did and had to. Glamour was the key to success back then and if it meant to dye hair red and to get rid of too much of it, why not? It's no evidence for discrimination.

  • @loolabal You realize Rita Hayworth is Hispanic and achieved her look in this video with surgery right? That isn't her singing voice either.

  • Margarita Carmen Cansino, spanish blood.....yeah.....muaks

  • She was breathtaking, fabiolus and beautifull a real lady.

  • Thsi is a true classic... Hard to beat it!!

    Rita .....a TRUE STAR!!

  • shes amazing

  • Whoa she is hot... :P I think I grew up half a century too late...

  • Rita I love you! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

  • I love this movie! Rita was breathtaking in it

  • I am a Gringo. I speak Spanish. I have lived in Mexico for many years. I know Christina, etc.

Rita and Fred will always be the best.

  • Because she had to change her name, that's why, EmpressJudge, u might have been to young when that happened, that's why.

  • she made one film called "you never were lovlier" .. how true to her apperiance in Gilda ... all contemporary female stars together naked are less sexy than Rita taking off her gloves

  • Great comment!

  • Beautiful

  • The first scene shown in this video was the best and yet the faggotry of the dubbing was horrific. Use the language used by the actors and sub the shit if necessary.

There's nothing more annoying than having an English language film stripped and dub with Italian.

  • Why the hell is everyone going on and on about Rita's heritage?

She was first and foremost a star. That's all that matters!

  • Yes, her upbringing and life outside of movies and pictures doesn't matter. What are you, high?

  • Wow! Sexy.

  • bellissima

  • there r pretty spanish, that though is just that u haven't been in spaon.i'm half spanish half polish and i don't think i'm looking so bad.u should come to spain this summer, maybe u'll see spanish without the though

  • The real name of Ryta Hayworth is Margarita Cansino!!!

    Un español

  • she is just like jessica rabbit

  • in fact it´s jessica rabbit that is like her :) jessica rabbit was inspired in veronika lake other star from the 40's also

  • Rita Hayworth was a gorgeous woman! Smoldering!!

  • She was a Star. What a fine video!

    Thank you @

  • Piekna kobieta slicznie spiewajaca, utalentowana aktorka...

  • WOW what dame!

  • If there is a Heaven and I somehow manage to get there, I hope to romance her, Rita Hayworths Gilda... WOW!!!

  • What fascinates me about "Put the Blame on Mame" is how this is an example of dance that is totally at the service of the character. If you didn't know that Rita was a master technician you would think that indeed she was just playing a drunken and didn't know how to dance. Just masterful!
