Exhaust sounds good BUT your truck is NOT an SS. Why would you put an SS badge on a 4x4?....That's gay.

Sounds great, had Borla on two 97 fbody's, of course it sounded much better on the LT1s than the LSxx (stock to stock), the cast iron blocked LTxx just had a deeper tone. Just bought a 2008 silverado 1500 z71 4x4 shortbox crew cab w/5.3L and am itching to mod something on it. Have you done anything else to your engine?  This is stock right, no cam, headers, etc?

I have been waiting so long for someone to straight pipe one of these new Silverados, especially a 6.0 L Vortec V8. To many people waste their time and money on Flowmasters and Magnaflows when it just makes your truck sound hollow and quiet, basically like shit. Straight pipes are the only way to go on a V8, low, deep, and fucking loud. I nearly shit my pants when you started that thing up man ! Nicely done and a beautiful truck.

i had the dealership do it since other stuff was being done to the truck it made things easier.... but ive redone it since then.... just go to where you got it from and talk to the aftermarket people they should do be able to do it

SS.....LMAO is more like it. I hate it when people just slap a SS badge on something and think its hot stuff. I have a 2008 Sierra SLT Z71 with a V-Max, so its not like I'm jealous. But damn, I think your exhaust sounds terrible. I have true dual magnaflows dumped with a x pipe and people tell me my exhaust sounds amazing.

woah! first off i didnt slap on any SS badge, i gently placed it on with finesse.. secondly why does it matter to you what i put on MY truck? but seriously let me know when you get a video up of your exhaust so i can check it out.. until then if you are going to be on my nuts... just make sure you clean them off when you are done.... thanks

Maybe I'm not getting this, in your description, you say that you REMOVED the muffler and replaced it with a Y pipe. So the sound we're hearing is WITHOUT a muffler? I'm in the process of ordering one of these for my Silverado, but don't want to be disapointed when it doesn't sound as well as yours, please explain, thanks again for including the part number earlier, that helped a lot. the sound you are hearing is the Y pipe with the borla piping and tips.... i liked the sound borla made it just wasn't loud enough for me so i removed the muffler and replaced it with a Y pipe.. its pretty much got the same sound, just a lot louder and a little more crackle

I called borla today to ask a question for my 2008 V tec and they were like as far as we know it doesn't fit that truck as i clearly see here it does. My question is do you think it will go around a 20nch spare seeing that is the main difference in your truck to mine that and mine is an extended cab

i dont see why not... if the spare does get in the way.. the place that is going to install it could easily go around it if they had to or figure out a way to make it work.. it might cost a bit more though.. just ask them to be sure
