@VarlPlanet it sounding like it was recorded in a tin can was often intentional, in this case it was ment to sound mechanical, hence the name industrial, and with thrash and most rock originated heavy music the lack of distortion just makes the lack of complexity and fullness more obvious, and you notice more how groups of bands sound almost exactly alike
Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse is probally one of the best electro-industrial albulms there are. You must remember, this abulm is years before industrial rock or even industrial metal. NIN isn't there, ministry is still kicking around adding guitar. But then you listen to songs like Dig It, and you can get a semblance of whats coming
Their new stuff has evolved ALOT since this 80's synth shit... deal with it. (Not saying this is/was bad... it's a step in the progression) ie Process.
This song reminds me of the movie Hellraiser. When I was 15 my friends and I were listing to this song in the dark and one of my friends picked up a bat and started beating one of my other friends. When we stopped the music and turned on the lights he didnt know what happened and didnt remember hitting my other friend. Creepy song.
I love this song. Not exactly sure why either. I guess SP brings back a ton of memories and anyone that has been listening to them or scene them live know they have always done weird/political shit. Its good.
also does anybody know what Ogre is saying on the album version of this song? his vocals are like a whisper and i can't make anything out.....just curious.
Easily one of the best SP songs of all time! The (Too Far Gone) Remix on their 12 inch anthology album is the best version of this song! They have always been great live. Have seen them in Houston and Dallas. Amazing
@Letter10music I love everything Skinny Puppy does honestly, I like some of their songs more than other, but they have changed a lot as technology has improved, as has everyone else, and they've really changed since the death of Dwayne Goettle.
Mark Walk, doesn't bring the rawness and darkness that Dwayne did. With Mark they sound a bit more like ohGr, but they're still great.
@TheCunningAndFought I see what you mean about them improving, with Mythmaker they seemed to be becoming a new band, where on GWOTR they were adjusting to not having Dwayne, and to me they sounded like ohGr rather than Skinny Puppy.
They still don't have that industrial sound anymore, they have more of an electronic sound now. Walk sounds like he might be using newer equipment where Dwayne seemed like he used analog till the end. Makes a difference.
@LySeRgIa2 ya, they seem like just about every 80s industrial band to have moved more towards something sounding more like ebm, i blame the lack of old noisy computers tbqh and improvements in synth audio tech
@FUBUXGEAR First I'd never call SP ebm, electro industrial at their most rhythmic, nowadays, their really is no real industrial. What passes as industrial is kinda sad. I really think the Process was their last industrial album, and that was the last album they had Dwayne on. Dwayne was their binding glue, imo. He wasn't using digital equipment, they replaced him with Mark Walk, ohGr's synth man, and they sound digital.
@FUBUXGEAR No one in SP wanted to go in a real industrial direction anymore. Dwayne and cEvin wanted to go in a more IDM direction and Nivek wanted to go more metal, which gave birth to the Process, which I think would have been fine for the late 90's and the 2000's. It had a guitar oriented sounded but also still pretty industrial.
But I don't think Mark Walk should be in SP, I think a the better "industrial" line up, would have been, Nivek, cEvin, and Phil Western, or maybe even Spybey.
Rest in peace, Dwayne.

First time I saw this is think. I miss the 80's/mid 90's SP. Newer stuff just isnt the same especially production-wise.
Not the best Skinny Puppy video [or song] but still decent
