Idid transition about 5 years ago Got braids for month or so, then did big chop. Grew out and I had a naturally curly fro, rocked that for a few years. Did the flat iron thing for a while-cut it all off again

Grew back out I got a relaxer in NOv. Now in stage of growing out. I will chop off again this summer & go from there. The hardest part for me was finding the RIGHT product. However it seems there are plenty to choose from today.

I wore relaxer for many years,after all that abuse I went into my bathroom one day and took clippers and cut my hair boy style!

I was natural for around 6 years then relaxed my hair!! I KNOW WHAT AN IDIOT!! Must say I did enjoy my relaxer as well as being natural. Now my hair is in a short Rihanna style, so I am considering not relaxing again and growing it out with braids, then BC and do it all again.

You know what? The great thing about being natural is that you can get a dominican blowout if you want a relaxed look; but if you relax you cant get that natural look! Thats the why Im going natural... I want that versatility.

A natural relaxer gives you a looser curl pattern. Itdoes not straighten the hair( for most people ) but will make the curls losser. If you already have a loose texture you might not want to use this because it can make them straight.

Question - you had a "professional" blowout done...what was used? Sraightening comb, flat iron, barrel flat iron? I'm in the process of looking for someone but I want to make sure they use the right technique on my hair. I don't want heat damage. Any tips?

Sorry for the late response. She used a comb first and then went back through with the flat iron. I literally couldn't believe how straight she got it and no damage was done, however, I don't do it often. So I wonder if I did it more if that heat would break it
