they are animals,my dog can look at me the same way, they will tear your face off, there is no soul in a monkey,it just happens to be a similiar two armed two leg creature that has some same dna,we are all earthlings you should expect that, bet we are related to a cow too,a whale.a fish, when a human fetis starts growing it has gills.but chimps are the closet thing to us,but if anything they came from us
Chimpanzees are the "people of the forest". They need to have rights so that killing them is murder and transporting them and holding them in small cages, and doing research on them is torture and enforced and punished as such.
Like previous comments, chimps do have a sort of 'spiritual reaction' to rain and waterfalls. Hopefully more research on this. Years ago, we thought one of the differences in man and chimps was the ability to make and use tools. Now we know different. Man has evolved from the same tree yet obviously on a different branch. These different and common traits of all seven great apes just fasinate me.
If we are ever going to progress, we have to take off the rose colored glasses, and stop having tunnel vision....and we need to get them out of the research labs....
It's awesome that chimpanzes and humans share so much common DNA. Apparently that 1.5% difference is AMAZINGLY important. It'sawesome that chimps have emotions and can use tools. Super great. And wow, we've found intelligent life here on Earth after so many years of searching. I'm not sure what this video is a refutation of... seems to have an agenda. Are we saying then that chimps are the same as us despite WILDLY different physical characteristics?Oh wait, relIGION! I forgot. Screw that noise

Chimps are just yet another one of God amazingly terriffic creations..We most assuredly did not evolve from apes! We were created by God in the image of God. If men evolved from monkeys...why are monkey not still evolving??? Genesis tells us that God created man in His own image, forming man from the dust of the earth and breathing into his nostrils the breath of life (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7).
You people are so arrogant. What makes you think that you are smarter, or more educated than real paleoanthropologists?
These people are real scientists who actually DO real bona fide field work and use the scientific method. They don't hide inside churches, sing hymns and quote scriptures all day and claim to have all the answers.
i'm pretty sure gorillas cannot, but that's not the point, anyway. the point is that this an amazing caracteristic of the devolpment of their brain and abilities related to it. the perception of the self is truly the base of complex thinking and morality (which we often think are inherent only to humans).
Hm-m-m-m. Well, remember that a brocolli shares about 50% DNA with us...a mouse about 90%, etc. Yes, chimps have souls and think deeper thoughts than most could realize. But then, my poodle (rest his 17+ years soul) did too--tried driving my car, but was too short. Chimp's biggest problem is it's vague resemblance to humans. Too much attention. My poodle on the other hand was luckier, but no less a "person" to me. I believe that all lesser animals deserve more consideration than they get.
i agree, but this is what make me wonder A LOT about it : the chimps are one of the only primats (if it is not the only one) who share with human the conception of the ego, the self. if you put a gorilla in front of a mirror, it will attack it, at least it will not understand that the image relfected is himself. on the other side, chimps, as we do, will understand this. on a philosophical level, it is very relevant. like teh ability to discern good and bad is based on the conception of the ego.
No such thing as inferior animals. That's just an irritating dominance instinct that humans developed to think that they are gods compared to all the rest of the creatures. Anyone alive on the planet has or can do something that humans can't. We can do things others can't as well obviously.
i do agree. actually, i study primatology (i'm in anthropology degree) and i found amazing the complexity of the social organisation of the primats, the way they adapt, develop behaviors or tools to fit with their environment. they are amazing. you said that some primats can do things better than we do : on an intellectual plan, chimps, per example, have a wayyy better memory than humans. that could be explained by an evolution of needs. we developped other parts of our brain, to speak e.g.
Great video, but I would like to point out that most evolutionary theory states that humans and great apes (chimps, gorillas, and orangutans) evolved from a common ancestor, and not that we descended directly from chimps.
Thank you! I was looking for more of an instrumental song but could not find one. What songs would you of suggested? It wasn't my favourite choice, but the best I could find. Thank you again, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Jaymann411: Your quoting something that has been translated from Aramaic and apparently was lost in translation through European monarchs.
Just because it is written does not imply that it is fact.

a gorilla will recognize himself in the mirror and even an orangutan. All great apes and dolphins can do that

Without ego; religions cannot be made. They found out that chimpanzees have some sort of spirituality especially when it rains.

But still, very nicely done.

Great video. Wonderful. Brilliant info and insight. Questions we all need to be asking, answering and understanding.
Personally, not the best song I would have choosen. But who cares. It's not the point of my response.
It's a great message we all need to think about and discuss. An outstanding video. A+A+A+
