im 19 and i listen to hardcore bands that scream and are what most people would assume to be "demonic" but for some reason ive always loved mandolin, mainly because of my dads love for led zeppelin and us listening to them so much together. im so intrigued by mandolins and i really really like this song and your playing style. so THANK YOU. haha
The National sound amazing and VERY LOUD! I played one recently in a store in Tiburton California, if the exchange rate wasn't so poor it would have been home in Scotland with me.
Great stuff Daddy, you make the world a better place!
@daddystovepipe I own the mandolin now. Fixed the action and intonation. Now it's fantasic, You played it really well though. Get yerself another one.
This seems to be the best (Utube) example of what a National RM1 sounds like when well played. I use your videos as learning tools (mandolin blues). Really appreciate them.
If a man did some editing to that audio that made it sound like an old 78, it would have fooled me. You've got that late 20s, early 30s white blues rhythm very well. People usually miss that rhythm and what they play sounds modern. Yours does not. Outstanding.
Carl, this is absolutely brilliant ! Man, you make real fast progress on mandolin. This video is among the very best blues mandolin on youtube. Please keep them comming...
Thanks, album #2 is in the making. It will be a cd about Blind Blake and Blind Boy Fuller. I will do 50% and Jim Bruce (Youtune label owner) will do also 50%.
fantastic!!

You would a lot of guys a big favor by simply playing it a half step up. This is the best version that I've heard. Even the words are different.
