We came so close this season finishing 2nd,

finishing 2nd in 01/02,

joint 2nd in 96/97,

3rd but in the running right to the last couple of games in 95/96..we were always missing something to get us over the line and I think that something is back..long live King Kenny!!

Lol i was just talking about the fact they beated united 4-1 in Old trafford, they beatted 4-0 real madrid, they beatted 5-0 aston villa, they lost for sure the most important matches against chelsea in the champion's league, against tottenham in the carling cup against everton in the fa cup, but i think they have made a realy good season last year.

Liverpool were so good last season they finished 2nd to Man Utd who won the Premiership for the 10th time...and didn't progress as far as Utd in any of the European Cup, FA Cup or Carling Cup. Oh, and Utd won 3 trophies and played in the European Cup Final. So a really great season for the LFC History Channel watchers.

How are Liverpool so poor this season? Losing one player (Alonso) cannot make a team so much worse. We've lost like 5 games in the league this season, we're 12 points behind Chelsea, it really is confusing. Aquilani has massive expectations on his shoulders, but I'm so bloody flummoxed as to why we can't perform this season. Alonso is a fantastic player, but losing him cannot ruin a whole team. It has to run deeper, maybe infighting or something...
