@mirmirmedia Actually DOS was created by Tim Patterson as an 8086 version of CP/M only intended for internal use by his company Seattle Computer Systems or Seattle Computer Product's depending upon who you ask. I was alive back then and seem to remember it as "Systems". It wasn't meant to be a commercial product. It was originally called QDOS (Quick & Dirty Operating System), renamed to 86-DOS, then purchased by Microsoft (due to IBM asking them for an OS) and renamed to PC/MS-DOS - whew...
