  • r they still around they r one of the few band i heard when i went back to church in 97

  • @bigbrother792

Last time I checked they were getting back together for a tour. I guess for memory's sake.

  • I have this CD. My uncle gave it to me when I was like 8! I didn't even know they were on YouTube! I love it though! :)

  • SEEING THEM ON REUNION TOUR SUNDAY! So excited.

  • at every party around my neighborhood EVERYONE dances to this.

  • ska bands love metallica, well at least 3rd wave ska bands like the supertones love metallica. I used to like the supertones being a middle school student, i listen to it now and feel so silly for listening to this stuff. Christian and ska punk music was huge back then.

  • @deathfallradio I am a 42 (soon to be 43) year old man who was into Supertones when they were new. I still listen to them and enjoy them greatly. Do not let your age, emotions, or pride or shame dictate what type of art or music you enjoy. Ska is, and was, very popular amongst the older generation (20s, 30s, 40s) for good reasons which I've no room to go into. Be passionate about what God gives you the enjoyment of. My 8 yr. old daughter loves S-Tones, Me? I love It's A Small World!

  • I love this band. Classic Old school! lol i remember always playing there CD and dancing when i was 5

  • diggin the Wu Tang lyrics

  • I don't really care for most christian music but the super tones rock. Just some old school ska thats what this world needs more of.

  • amen, brotha.

  • I loved their first two albums, but once they stopped doing ska, I pretty much lost interest, and they ended up becoming fairly generic.

  • what a fun time, I miss the 90's and ska.

  • This is one hell of a catchy song. I remember buying the album because of this and was dissapointed by it.

  • Supertones are the BEST! Listened to them the first time with 2 adulat leaders.

  • I'm an Atheist. Although I don't believe in God, The OC Supertones and Five Iron Frenzy are two of my favorite ska bands.

  • I flippin' love this song! SOOO nostalgic!

  • LOL 1:07. I wish all hospitals had a band in the corner

  • this is a really good song. i love the facial expressions of the guy dragging him

  • I LOVE THE SUPERTONES!!!

  • Very inspiring and on fire! I dig it and the energy. Also, very peculiar!

  • My brother bought all the cd's. Theirs and five iron frenzy

  • It's so funny. I never got a chance to see these videos and these were filmed right when I was totally into these guys! Those were the days, directly post-high school, 1996-1998 when these guys were the big thing. First saw them New Years Eve 1995, when Matt still had his hair! The real kicker was July 1996 after the first album came out and I saw them for my second time. I must've danced till my legs were ready to fall off! Good memories!

  • the intro is a copy of creeping death by metallica

  • I vaguely remember going to see them in concert as a kid...going down into the mosh pit...and getting covered in spit from the frontman....nevertheless, it was awesome.

  • this is like the best Christian band ever

  • you got that right!!

  • Maan,this is old! XD Sucks I never got to see them in concert. ;__;

  • i am remembering my high school years!

    thanks to whoever uploaded it

  • this is great

love that Creeping Death tribute in the beginning!

  • AHHHHHH Supertones were the BOMB!!!

  • FIVE IRON!!! RAH!

  • The opening riff of this song is almost exactly the same as the beginning of Creeping Death by Metallica (not that I listen to that band, I just saw a fact about that and found out it was true :D)

  • One of the best eva for eva

  • Im just pissed off I only got into them after they split up!! Music so awesome that even an atheist like me can enjoy it :)

  • Squeeee! Supertones rock. God has all the cool bands. :D

  • You're right! Supertones, Newsboys, Tony Mac, Superchic[k]...

  • No...no, I don't. I don't have any bands. And all of these 'houses' you humans build for me? I don't really need them. I have a nice 1 bedroom apartment here in town. Every time I try to sleep in one of 'My' houses, the damn ministers keep kicking me out.

  • I love god just as much as the next guy, but no. No he doesn't.

  • @AngeloftheRuse that's absolutely retarded. god isn't real.

  • @whitter86 - You post a troll bait for a comment made 1 year ago. Boy, you must be bored.

  • @AngeloftheRuse and you responded. calling the kettle black wouldn't you say? i don't pay attention to when the comments were made...only the stupidity of them. and i am not a troll. of course you will retort with some simpleton response that i'm not interested in hearing. so have a nice life.

  • @whitter86 - Aw, well gee, gosh. I responded because I got an email. Peace.

  • from purely a music standpoint these guys kick ass!

  • what other standpoint is there?

  • What a classic. I love it.

  • What ever happend to ska? I love ska, Like five iron frenzy!

  • ska is still skankin' man! most of the people in my highschool like ska.

  • awesome question! five iron frenzy put out soo many albums too, i dont think they have anything new out though. shame

  • OMG!!!!!!!I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!! i always listened to them when i was in middle school!!and i was so mad when they broke up...=/ i really miss their music

  • This brings back old memories. We own a tape with a bunch of music videos, and this is the first one on the tape.

  • I first heard them on concert, one of the last in Germany

and i totally liked them instantly

  • great great band

  • I am in no way shape or form A CHRISTIAN. But the supertones are fundamentally one of the greatest ska bands that has ever existed. Their message is a lofty one, but their music is so inspiring that it gives me ideas for all the satanic ska music that I want to make! Thank you supertones, and thank you jesus.

  • ocs rocked in middleschool and they still rock today, thats all i have to say about that. -pat

  • I think that this song is good and as long as they have fun singing it, it shouldn't matter if it's a "rip" or not. There are alot of bands that rip off songs and people think those songs are amazing. Rips don't matter!!!!

  • they obviously did that intro op purpose. I sounds exactly the same but slower to me. with the exception of the major horns instead of the minor in creeping death.

  • dont be jealous that Christian music is awesome

  • shame all of it aint this good though :P

    BUCK are good too

  • You can say that one genre of music is great based on certain groups or certain songs.

  • I favoritededededed this.

  • I had to see these guy with a christian rock band when I was 15....nothing is weirder than a show of uptight assembly of god christians refusing to move unless to pray...force youth group meetings led to forced concerts...I do have to say these guys were much funner to watch than the usual bands....

  • bummer thats the view of christanity you got. there are a lot of fun and intresting things out there that aren't like that.

  • who care if it metallicas intro or not lets all agree that the supertones rock!!

  • Couldn't have said it better. ^5

  • ya i agree

  • omg, this brings back childhood memories. I love this cd when I was a kid.

  • I had no idea that this song would ignite such a fire storm of criticism and defense.

    TJay

  • They both have different harmonies. But the intros both have the same structure, but there is NO "COPYING" in this.

  • Actually the harmonies are EXACTLY the same, but it's a tribute not a rip off.

  • Metallica intro? Pfft! Wikipedia says that this is an "Exact Replica of Metallicas Creeping Death"

    NO!

Metallica used minor 3rd harmony, whilst THIS songs intro used major 3rd harmony. Minor and Major are very diferent in my opinion, and are FARRRR from "exact replicating" at least..

Pfft. Shut up Metallica fans who don't know the difference.

  • I concur . . . man this argument reminds me of the time somebody said that MJ stole Mamase mamasa mamakusa from the song, "Please don't stop the music"

  • Metallicas riff was in minor 3rd harmony, whilst THIS Supertones song intro was done in major 3rd. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then shut up about how this was "copied" from Metallica, .....but you stupid Metallica fans are too stupid to hear the difference, and just scream COPY COPY!

  • Haha, this is cool! I'm a big metallica fan, but I appear to be the only one not pissed off by them using a metallica intro haha. This songs fun!

  • they could at least write theyre own intro........

  • It seems like it's their own intro, I've never heard it before.

    TJay

  • its the intro for a metallica song.

  • which metallica song is everyone talking about? -I'd like to hear it. Everyone borrows licks from eachother. It's the nature of the music industry.

  • creeping death by metallica

  • @tjayhuntington

    Creeping Death by Metallica

    Supertones still rocks though

  • they have inspiration from Metallica!! they do that with a lot of their songs! get over it!

  • Why is everyone whining about the usage of Metallica riffs?

Metallica is cool, and Supertones are awesome and clearly enjoy Metallica riffs, and we should all just get along. :-)

  • lol metallica don't sucks neither supertones the 2 groups are from differents genders :S that's all...

  • i think you mean genres :)

  • Well, Metallica sucks and the OC Supertones don't.

    TJay

  • metallica doesn't suck

    if they did

your oc supertones wouldn't be as good

    i'm not saying they aren't

    but don't dis metallica

one of the most successful bands ever

  • Metallica fans are some of most gullible people too, they keep buying all of the best of albums and I can't even imagine how many times each song has been released and re-released a hundred times over.

Metallica still sucks and the Supertones don't.

    TJay

  • i never said the supertones sucked

but you are right about the re-releases

  • Uh, Metallica's NEVER released a best-of album. In fact, the Supertones have released more best-of albums than Metallica has.

Oh and I'd take classic Metallica(mid-80s) over shitty christian ska music anyday.

  • If you prefer Metallica over the Supertones, then don't comment! Why did you even come on here in the first place? I think deep down inside you like the Supertones, you just don't want to admit it. You may like them even more than classic Metallica (mid-80s)...secretly of course.

    TJay

  • i like both metallica and oc supertones. wesleyhardin just doesnt apprieciate music much

  • Do you people know how many Metallica riffs they freaking use, bunch of un-original fakes.

  • sweet music.

  • thats great that they stole a metallica song! (said with sarcasm)

  • they didn't steal anything. they got permission.

  • esta m uy bien

  • I love this song!!!

    one of my fav!!!

  • the best

  • to think like 10 years ago i got made fun of for listening to this and then one night at a party i found this cd at a friends and played it and every one told me how they used to listen to it all the time.

  • I used to play video games with Matt (the lead singer) when they were starting out....I remember when they played at Knotts Berry farm....LOL

  • Great song from a great band. Too bad theyre no more :(

I was on their last concert outside the US, in Norway. That was a goodie experience :D

  • Good band, good music, beautyful lyrics

    Ska for Christ

    Oi !

  • haha, Oi!

I haven't heard that important piece in ska for a looong time.

    thanks for bringin' it back!

    oi oi oi!

  • this takes me back!!!

  • supatones yeeeyah!

  • please guys, make a differense between ska and ska-rock.. for this isn't true ska

but it's totaly cool that's true

  • i didn't get into ska until all the ska bands were breaking up...i went to a supertones concert once before i knew who they were. it's going to be a lifelong sorrow i think.

  • Cheer up though, whenever you feel like you want to sing along to a good song by the Supertones, watch this video.

    TJay

  • Dude WHERE DID YOU GET THIS VIDEO! I love these guys and i want that video so bad on my i-pod

  • I got this video off of the Supertones At The Movies VHS tape.

    TJay

  • neat song! lol at 1:06 dude this is the band ive been waiting for theyre christian theyre ska the perfect combo

  • With a lot of Christian bands, there are aspects other than the lyrics that secular fans of the genre complain about. But with the OC, there really isn't anything to complain about. A feel-good message with a feel-good sound. The perfect match.

  • I've seen them perform soo many times and they are always GREAT!!!!!!!!!! SUPERTONES STRIKE BACK!!!

  • I loved the Supertones. They were just awesome. Had a way of sharing their faith without apology. Jeez...who can I listen to now that can even come close?

  • The Supertones were awesome. To me, they were the fathers of Christian ska. I have to say that the band lineup in this video was when the band was most complete.

This video's always been my favourite, if only for the fact that Jason, the band's drummer, owns the video with his weird facial expressions.

  • omg i know he rocks i totally wrote like the same thing on my profile without even reading your comment! I love them they have the best music.....i went to their last concert they ever did and i was like so sad but like these other people loved them so mush they were like crying. SUPERTONES ROCK!

  • kinda like five iron's last concert, huh? well i never got to see these guys cuz they hardly came to the east coast

  • the supertones is a greath group

  • they remind me of less than jake

  • The brass sound is the ska sound my friend. Praise jah Praise God

  • Great video it´s wonderful he´s very special guys and a very funny

  • they're in an insane asylum.

    how apt.

:D melikes the supertones greatly indeed

  • I love seeing these guys live. What a show!

  • I like the brass sound its different and it is awesome go God

  • great band!..the best!!!!!

  • That poor band went through so many lineup changes it's not funny.

Though, I have to say I'm not sad they broke up after their most recent offerings.

  • ha ha ha nice vid.

  • Love Supertones. Thought Strikeback was one of their best albums. They really rocked their shows to. came to our youth group a couple times. They are Jesus Freaks! Love it!

  • who really payas attention to music videos its the music that matters and The oc Supertones were a great band I would go on a limb and say that they are alot better then most bands in their genre. Well they broke up so i guess thats doesnt matter anymore

  • Best music video evar.

  • I have seen these guys live about 4 times...it's too bad they broke up. Great stuff!!

  • Who says Christian Rock's not cool? Eat Dust... Supertones is second to none when it comes to Christian Ska!

  • god.. their videos are so terrible

  • Great vid, awesome times.

  • Actually dude that intro was Creeping Death by Metallica. Metallica's take on Exodus, with lots of influence from the movie Ten Commandments. Very cool video!

  • the intro to this song is "master of puppets" by METALLICA! so i guess it's okay to be a christian and listen to devil music. AWSOME!

  • thats my cousins band. or used to be.

  • who was your cousin?

  • I've seen them about 8 times live and every time they played this song! The crowd totally loved it!

  • Too bad they broke up. I saw them on their farewell tour right before they quit for good.

  • Cool. Is this official?

  • i used to have this on VHS!!!

  • AWESOMENESS!!!!

  • Supertones ARE BACK INDEED!
