@The8310353 That tackle is straight out of the textbook - the referee's textbook on serious foul play. Two footed, off his feet, studs up flying towards the opponent's ankles. Could have easily snapped his ankle. Very clear red card, totally correct decision.
That's definitely not worthy of a red card. That's a foul, but definitely not a red card. He got ball first, indicating he's going after the ball and not the player. Going in with two feet that time helps him cover more ground for stealing the ball. IMO, that's at most a yellow card, if anything.
@KidDark509.....yeah you can clearly see two feet hit Noonan's ankle....so I am sure he flopped. You're right. Noonan has a reputation for being honest over 10+ years in this league. And I promise you I have watched more football from any federation than you ever will. Reason I get paid to cover it and you are stuck whining on youtube
the disgraceful part wasnt the tackle but instead the way he dived in front of Noonan. Bravo is an accomplished boxer and the most he was able to do was fake a headbutt?
I guess you people dont understand the two footed tackle rule. Yes he got the ball first but your not allowed to to have both feet off the ground when you are making a 50-50 tackle and thats what he did. As soon as the whistle was blown, watch his teammates race to the spot of the foul because they knew the card was coming. You dont do that if its a regular foul. Yes he got the ball but he also got the player. This is called in Europe ALL the time. Not just MLS. Name the last time in happened?
Ok guys it should have been a red card but once you start talking shit about Mexicans that's a whole other thing. NOT ALL MEXICANS PLAY THIS WAY I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT. So please stop being racist and rude.
Lol, you can't just leap into a tackle 2-footed showing studs... What a idiot, he coulda got it clean easy if he just tackled normal, one-footed with his laces.
That was nothing but ball...fucken pussy ass players...fuck the commentator he is retarde...if it was in the epl nothing would be called a clean play he tok the ball and..that pussy ass american was crying
that was a terrible fucking call, thats what you people need to focus on. Not wether or not it was racist, thats all subjective and you're all retarded for even arguing over it.
That shit was barely a yellow, no way it was a red.
@Hyto96 very true, .. these people are just biased towards MLS soccer, which is garbage anyway... and the commentator probably a retired USA international such as alexis lalas is probably just hating on omar bravo. but i must agree this is a red card, 2 leg challenge is automatically a red card wether he gets ball or not.
in mls this would be a red card ....he got the ball , didn't even want to hurt the player, studs weren't up that's a yellow...but mls is a weak ass league...light years away from the mexican league ...and that's sad because the mex league isn't all that great either
Lmao. How does calling someone by their race make it racist? If it had been another player sent off he would say "get the American off the field" or "get the Canadian off the field" or "get the Englishman off the field" I don't understand what's racist about it. Christ. If he had said "get that wetb*ck off the field" I could understand calling him racist but using the guy's actual nationality is not racist.
when he said " get the Mexican off the field" it reminded me of the episode of The Office, when michael asks oscar if he would like to be called by something else, if theres a word less offensive than "Mexican".... it really isnt racist or offensive
first of all he did not two-footed tackle him.. if you look closely he gets the ball with one foot and then the other comes through .. this is not a two -footed tackle.. and to the commentator you're a disgrace, "get the mexican off the field" WOW really? talk about being professional yourself
Damn we never get announcers from the UK for games in Philadelphia :( ... then I heard him say Get the "Mexican" off the field... not that it's racist, but it is like sandpaper to the ears for some.
over 400 games played and this would be his 5th red card ever. 2 this season odds of that happening are just over 1 percent. So first its not like he is a dirty player. If Noonan was hurt then he would still be rolling on the ground. Bravo got and won the ball period. His follow through leads him into the player which is unlucky. Its a strong tackle but it is not a red and NOT TWO FOOTED.
look at the 2 foot tackle from henry and let me know the difference!!!
this is where that stupid replay rule would help........two footed tackle on normal speed.......yes....slow it down one foot is out the other semi hidden was it a red card legally....no but at normal speed i guess any ref would of given it

@NikotheRicoSuaverson Agreeing with ya Niko; Anyone who watches football (soccer) knows that the announcers on a regular basis refer to the players by their national origins.
@NikotheRicoSuaverson that was extremly racist! i have never heard any anouncer say get the american off the fiels... have you? anyways that was not a red card tackle in the first place.

@Looorney you are implying all asians cant drive....thats racist....and then to say you hate them ALL...thats racist...its like saying i hate all mexicans because they pick my strawberries, not because they are mexican.
@Meech0w No, that's not racism. That's stereotyping. Racism has a simple definition: discrimination against people of a certain ethnicity/race. I'm not discriminating against an ethnicity or race, but rather those who suck at driving (which tend to be asians).
@KidDark509 No, thats what we are called. Americans. But, If I am out of American and get called American, its racism? Where is the logic in that? Ohhhhh right, this is youtube.
@KidDark509 There are pussies everywhere in the soccer world including Mexico, so don't lie to yourself. Also, those pussies and winning pussies trying to win, and in this case, Sounders pussies win.
Noonan didn't flop.....he had two feet crunch his ankle. You're delusional if you think otherwise. Notice how none of his teammates defender Bravo? They wanted him off the pitch as quickly as possible. Funny that the MLS has a reputation for being one of the more physical leagues in the world, EPL and SPL withstanding, yet y'all call them pussies. Take a look at the Mexican, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian, Portuguese, and Argentine leagues before calling MLS players soft.
@freshfutbol Uhhh, how is the announcer racist? He was simply refering to the player by nationality, he does the same for "the Argentinian" Mauro Rosales and "the American" for Kasey Keller. Common practice for announcers.
Well, I think the tackle was more worthy off yellow than a red.
Regarding the commentator, well, I've never heard a commentator express himself on a tackle and red card like this so strongly. Especially not on an MLS match, because we all know how boring those matches are. And, I say this because I've heard commentary reactions on Nigel de Jong's infamous tackles (we all know him). However, I wouldn't go as far as calling the commentator a biased racist.
@Lexman00 Its the Sounders broadcaster, of course he is going to be a tad biased, its his job. But he also has a wealth of experience calling games in England, he is well known overseas. Just so happens he now calls the games for Seattle.
@KidDark509 Most ironic post of the day....what did Bravo do right after getting sent off? Flopped. Like a dead fish. Mexico is notorious for theatrics. Idiot.
Are you retarded or blind? Or both? He physically JUMPED into the challenge. That alone is a red card. He hit Noonan studs up. That alone is a red card. He went in with two feet, BS on one being bent, he hit him with two feet. Two feet caught the ankle. That alone is a red card. Three definitions of a red card on one play. Then the actions afterwards. Disgusting. 2 game suspension for the foul. 2 more for the terrible theatrics.
Omar Bravo should of kick that guys ass he would do it with nor problem(because he use to be a boxer) and that was at most a yellow you can see that his right foot bented back when he made contack with the left and the anouncer was just being biased
fuck that look at the replay!! U IDIDOTS THAT WAS ALL BALL!!! tTHIS IS wHy american soccer never gets better the players are pussies!!!! in the EUROPEAN LEAGUES THIS IS NOT EVEN A YELLOW!!!! THIS IS THE REASON THE US SOCCER SUCKS!!!!!
@onitsuj11 It doesn't matter if he gets ball first. He leaves his feet, hits him with two feet, and hit him studs up. Any of those alone is enough to get a red card. Per the rules, it does not matter if you get ball first if your tackle is totally and completely reckless as Bravo's was.
Not a red card. It wasn't a two footed tackle. His other foot was bent when it made contact with the other dude. This should've been a yellow card. 1 - He targeted and hit the ball first. 2 - The slide is what got the other player, not the tackle.
not two footed tackle.... first hits the ball in no possetion ball.....this is a failed red card..... maybe foul for dangerous tackle. no red card! from greece!
I get what you are saying but for example in Mexico anyone with white skin is called gringo even Mexicans with white skin are called that but its not meant as an insult, the times I have heard Mexican commentators say the Americano is out but it's not meant as an insult.
It's sad that people on both sides of the border keep this useless feud going<_<.
Watch slowly from 1:06-1:08,(yes, you will have to pause a couple times) it is NOT a two-footed tackle.
Noonan angrily refuses Bravo when he offers to help him up, which I think influenced the red, because Noonan was just holding his leg he could just stand up and walk it off, yes I play football(soccer) and when you get tackled you walk it off, rarely do you need to lay on the ground for long. He was trying to get Bravo punished, which then angered Bravo and we saw what happened.
Wow this announced is really one sided, might have been a red but the slide was originally 1 footed but momentum carried it into 2 after he got the ball. Personally its a yellow, but an argument for a red can be made. But definitely not as obvious as this horrible announcer made it out to be.
You Seattle folks, like your announcer, are a bunch of homers. This tackle was probably a foul, perhaps a yellow, but not even close to being straight red. Terrible call that cost KC the game. No worries, though, KC will get healthy and ride momentum all the way to the championship. This is merely a bump in the road.
@jhailos1 I could not agree more with your comment. I would not be mad if the ref just called a foul ,and I could even put up with a yellow card, but there was NO WAY he deserved a red card. Terrible call. But the streak had to end sometime. Better now than later. I have yet to meet a Seattle fan that has class.
I watch every SS game. Arlo White reps nationalities consistently, good plays, bad plays, sounders and opponents. his mexican comment meant nothing. also clearly a red.
@michelleAH96 no he doesn't, he frequently calls players by their country including the US, like when fredy Montero made a nice he says stuff like "and they just couldn't handle the Columbine!"
It was definitely reckless, and I was convinced he needed sent off. This is the first I've seen the close up replays and the couple towards the minute mark made me rethink it a bit. He definitely did leave the ground and looked frightening coming in, but if you watch you see him pull his right leg back underneath himself, and he didn't go through Noonan. I don't think there was any mal-intent in the initial challenge. His reaction afterwards was pitiful, though. Still a card.
If he just walks away after the tacke maybe he gets away with a yellow, but he appears to claim that Noonan is flopping, which he's obviously not, especially after looking at the replay. There's no doubt Bravo made a mistake, but then he tries to play it off like he didn't do anything wrong. Then he comes after Noonan. Then he comes after Noonan AGAIN. Disgraceul display. Hard to believe that is an MLS player.
Oh and that's Omar Bravo's 7th career league play red card. He is on par to break a league play red card record if he plays for another 9 years and keeps this up.
That was a terrible call. Was it reckless, a bit, but it was definitely not red card worthy. He clearly got the ball first and actually appeared to be more of a flop. If Bravo did not get spit on by the other player than it was a disgrace, but it sure looks to me like warrants a followup by MLS.
He slid two feet in studs or not. It is against the rules. It was clearly reckless whether you get ball or not. And the other player didn't flop at all. His legs were taken out and he fell on Bravo. Not to mention this is his second send off this year. Then that fake of him supposedly getting headbutted. Then not leaving the field for a minute and a half. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get a couple more games added to the suspension.
@hansdg1 learn the rules before ignorantly asserting that it shouldn't have been a red...seriously, it only takes a couple minutes to google it and read the rules that apply to this particular situation
@pankow93 No more of a dive than the response to the initial tackle. Also, I love how this video is with that fool Seattle announcer instead of KC or a neutral source. Also, how exactly is that deserving of a straight red card, ASSUMING there was no dive? Cleats down, two feet but not even at the same point...
@jcw368 no one has ever accused Jair Maurffo of being a good ref lol. I'm from seattle, and when that happened I said to my brother, we just got away with one there!
@dawnlaroe I know it sounds like it, but I don't think arlo has a racist bone in his body, plus he's one hell of an announcer. I can see where your coming from though

I watch every SS game. Arlo White reps nationalities consistently, good plays, bad plays, sounders and opponents. his mexican comment meant nothing. also clearly a red.
iamsrowley 6 months ago
Lol at that dive. What a little bitch. Deserved the red after that
ducktails99 6 months ago
This tackle lost the game for KC. They owned the game until this play, then start to bunker and finally give up 2 goals in stoppage. Silliness.

Never a red.

All I can say is red card for sure, and I hope Arlo doesn't think all mexican players play like this because they don't
michelleAH96 6 months ago

Bravo is the Ron Artest of the MLS.
joelbschoenberg 6 months ago
If he just walks away after the tacke maybe he gets away with a yellow, but he appears to claim that Noonan is flopping, which he's obviously not, especially after looking at the replay. There's no doubt Bravo made a mistake, but then he tries to play it off like he didn't do anything wrong. Then he comes after Noonan. Then he comes after Noonan AGAIN. Disgraceul display. Hard to believe that is an MLS player.

Oh and that's Omar Bravo's 7th career league play red card. He is on par to break a league play red card record if he plays for another 9 years and keeps this up.
starhezthet 6 months ago
That was a terrible call. Was it reckless, a bit, but it was definitely not red card worthy. He clearly got the ball first and actually appeared to be more of a flop. If Bravo did not get spit on by the other player than it was a disgrace, but it sure looks to me like warrants a followup by MLS.
hansdg1 6 months ago
He slid two feet in studs or not. It is against the rules. It was clearly reckless whether you get ball or not. And the other player didn't flop at all. His legs were taken out and he fell on Bravo. Not to mention this is his second send off this year. Then that fake of him supposedly getting headbutted. Then not leaving the field for a minute and a half. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get a couple more games added to the suspension.
starhezthet 6 months ago
@hansdg1 learn the rules before ignorantly asserting that it shouldn't have been a red...seriously, it only takes a couple minutes to google it and read the rules that apply to this particular situation
meeks82 6 months ago
@hansdg1 Getting the ball first is one requirement for a legal tackle. It is not the only requirement.

@jcw368 how about Bravo's stupid dive trying to sucker noonen into a red card.
pankow93 6 months ago
@pankow93 No more of a dive than the response to the initial tackle. Also, I love how this video is with that fool Seattle announcer instead of KC or a neutral source. Also, how exactly is that deserving of a straight red card, ASSUMING there was no dive? Cleats down, two feet but not even at the same point...
jcw368 6 months ago
@jcw368 no one has ever accused Jair Maurffo of being a good ref lol. I'm from seattle, and when that happened I said to my brother, we just got away with one there!
pankow93 6 months ago
@jcw368 Watch the replay...cleats up...leaves the ground...shows intent to injure ... ie Straight red card!!!!

@dawnlaroe I know it sounds like it, but I don't think arlo has a racist bone in his body, plus he's one hell of an announcer. I can see where your coming from though
