Thank you so much! I've been watching over 100 vids about this and i failed every time. But when I saw this and i tried it finally worked! Now i can play black & white black ops and other stuff on my r4 for ds lite! Only one little problem with the cheats, the "global settings" file is empty. But I dont;t care about that. I have an original r4. it IS REAL ok, and i installed the r4 wood and everything. It Loads all the games fine and they work fine. The only problem that i have is that there is NO TEXT whatsoever. I formatted the goldcard and put the woodR4i Gold in the card, but it only shows white screen with the word "menu?". The card has three files, the _rpg, the _DS_MENU.DAT, and the WOODR4.NDS. The version is WOODV1.26a_R4ids_gold. Please help. Thank you so much.

Wood 1.22 works fine and everything, just i erased everything but my Games folder on the root of my SD card, and when i load up Wood on my R4 and play a game with a save file on it, it says that i have to start over. Is there anyway so that Wood 1.22 can read my old save files?

Actually no difference for the card. When we talked about R4, it is refer to R4 DS card made from r4ds.com, and now most r4 ds cards are made from r4ds.me as r4ds.com is turned off.

r4 wood is known as the unofficial kernel Wood Firmware written by Yellow Wood Goblin, and official kernel has stopped update ever since v1.18. Now users would like to call r4 ds as r4 wood

@lordpyrox111 Download Wood R4 v. 1.20 (latest version) google it. Then format your SD card. Save the games in a folder. Put the _rpg and DSMENU.DAT on the root of your R4. Get your folder (where you put your games and your saves in) and put it on the root of your R4. To make sure your old sav. files are readable, rename your save into: EXAMPLE - Pokemon is the name of ur game, so its Pokemon.nds so then rename the save that was originally Pokemon.sav into Pokemon.nds.sav It should work! :)

hey, I deleted everything and replaced the content of my sd card with rpg and DS Menu, however my r4 is stuck on the loading screen...I tried renaming __rpg to _system_ just like my previous firmware but it didnt help, the DS MENU SYS file, however, has been created. ATTENTION everybody who is watching this:

If you are experiencing problems playing your r4 games, specifically, they "restart", then you have to rename your .SAV files in order to continue with your game progress. When you start a Wood r4 for the first time, your games do a "new game".

If you guys simply include ".nds" after the game name and before ".sav", then your games will start correctly as they had on original r4 firmware.

Example: Rename "Game.SAV" to "Game.nds.sav"

Sorry for the wait, but have you renamed your game files on the Wood r4? I had this problem too, but here:

I'm playing Pokemon Platinum on my r4, and the .nds file is named....let's say, "PokemonPlatinum.nds". So the .SAV file should be named PokemonPlatinum.SAV on an original r4.

On Wood r4, you are required to rename your files after the nds file. So if I want to play my Pokemon Platinum on Wood, I have to rename it: "PokemonPlatinum.nds.SAV". Insert ".nds" before the ".sav"

my sister has a normal r4 for ds lite. im trying to update it to wood so she can play all the new games like pokemon white and super scribblenauts (which has the intro loop problem). ive tried just having the rpg folder and the ds dat file from the wood download on there like in the video but its stuck on r4i loading screen even though theres no r4i things in the memory card. it didnt seem to work when i had the original r4 moonshl files in there either. :( she keeps bugging me about it, anyone?
