If you're smart, do as your told and keep a positive attitude you spend your time in the navy having fun, not doing much (hurry up and wait!) and getting laid on shore leave. If you're stupid like this ahole... well you'll end up like him, a bitter virgin who can't move up in rank, does a shitty job at every simple task he is given and then wonders why his life sucks while everyone else is having the time of thier lives. Keep in mind this guy is probably too stupid to move up in rank and is therefore stuck "chiping" paint (he chips paint becasue he's too stupid to do anyting else!). If your like me and joined to serve yor country do not I repeat do not join the Navy, this branch veers far away from patriotism, and their is more overweight people in the Navy than sumo wrestling match. BTW I am an angry BUD/s Medical Drop out in "The worthless Fleet" as my SOCM put it before I busted my leg, but its been a year so I am going to actually attempt to serve my country by going back to BUD/s. I have become an expert in Muay Thai just for the simple fact I love to fight now, I am racists and fuck and im not even white etc... All in all unless your going to be in the FMF communitiy, SEALs, Diver, EOD, do not join the Navy, it is to your benefit not to!
All in all i've spend two years in the Navy (all in the ship yard) and it has been the worst experince, i've seen more suicides in a span of 6 months than I have in my whole life, everyone still thinks their a thug, and feel the need to bring the hood to the Navy, the Navy has made me a worse person,
In a way this guy right, the basis of "The New Navy" is to look good. Basically you will spend a majority of your career painting,re-painting,chipping to paint, and don't get me started on "stripping and waxing". Long hours for nothing more but to muster and sit around. If you live on the boat (which keep in mind is like living in a closet) you will be subjected to ridiculous rules...
This ass hole is why all non rates want to leave deck dept. At least 3rd division operates boats. Dont be like this loser. You get out what you put in. I finished 4 active and 10 reserve. I am a better person because of the Navy.
I'm getting ready to go in the navy. this guy is fucking nuts! start out on the deck! WTF!!!!!!! My father was on the uss edward mcdonald and his exact words to me were NEVER EVER START ON THE DECK! WTF IS HE THINKING.
This dude is definately a moron. He's one of many with a bad attitude. I have 22 plus years in and will finish with 24. It has not been easy but I am leaving the navy as a better person with a better navy. Good luck to you.
