I'm sure you 'll probably have found this out by now, but the new BIGTRAK has some kind of infra red emitter in place of the socket on the original, so no the original Transporter isn't compatible :( Other differences in spec:- 3 D batteries only rather than 4 Ds and a PP3. Also there's no growling engine noise when the 'Trak moves. The plasma beam is an LED I think, and the blue cover completely encloses the LED; the original was open at the front.
