17, fake ID, walked into the Hacienda for the 1st time, felt like the king of the world! Then this got dropped, the place exploded!! Still gives me goosebumps 20 years later! Absolute timeless classic!
Great remix. I actually heard it as part of a radio mix back in the 90's. Ironically, I never knew that this existed as part of a whole song. The horns at the beginning of this mix, led into a mix with this instrumental over the top of an acapella track of "It's Not Over-Let No Man Put Asunder"...dope. I think it was Stacy "Hot Wax" Hale on FM 98 WJLB-Detroit.
VERY Soulful and emotive house. I remember getting this promo from Giant (part of Warner Bros) back in 1990 or so...great song! It was a nice change of direction from the deeper stuff the Detroit guys were known for. They showed they can create great songs with great singers. Very well done!
I heard this tune on Kiss Fm Manchester once about 1995 but I did not know what it was so I recorded it and took it down to Kiss FM Manchester and said ask your one of your DJ's what it was. They did and I went straight down East Bloc on Oldham street and bought it! Probably one of the best tunes of all time!
This track is fantastic, sounds fresh not just today but every time it's played, every effort should be made so it's not lost with time, especailly as most music today is crap.
As a producer/remixer dave lee aka joey negro was far beyond his peers because he understood the principle of incorporating disco into the emerging house sounds of the early 90's! it took m.a.w nearly 10 years to realize this!
In a world, living in South Carolina, thinking I'm alone when it comes to this....feels good to know that I'm not. These comments give me security with my taste of good dance music,
i agree this is such a great forgotton deep disco house classic .1 st heard it in 92 .reminds me of that summer along with t diva - picture this ,chic - your love, sandals -profound gas, marathon - movin, ann consuales - do it for love ect ect
Did anyone on here used to listen to Paul "Trouble" Anderson in the early 90s? He used to hammer this tune, along with all the other classics that Dave Lee was knocking out at that time. Check out his unreleased mix of Alison Limerick's "Getting It Right".
@djdavepinlondon PAUL "TROUBLE" ANDERSON SHOW'S ON A SATURDAY NIGHT LEGENDARY AND GOD DID HE HAMMER THIS FANTASTIC TUNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOVE IT
@djdavepinlondon Boy those Saturday night fixes on Kiss used to set me me up reel good, I have so many 12''s bought on the strength of that show. Thanks for the post mate !!
Damn!! What a track!! Does anyone remember Tony Largo playing this at Max or Candelabra?? Bring back the early 90's!!! Los Angeles in the early 90's was happening!!
dave lee was one of the most hard working and prolific mixers and producers back in the 90's, and i think i can safely say this was his best ever remix, tho its a very hard call to make cos he done so many great ones...dave and along with marc kinchen were the kings of this period
