really glad that cpt thain got his point across and cleared his name. whilst i understand that he broke rules regarding seating in the cockpit, i think that it was just plain lazy and unprofessional to use him as a scapegoat and have him take the rap for everything.

Unhappy history, but I think it is possible to watch two points: captain's behaviour reveals absence of precaution from the seat exchanging to the dangerous take-off decision in a snow and dark night. Otherwise, the german government performed badly as ignored witness reports and did not search deeper. At the end, I conclude: captain could have avoided the accident.
