I loved the video too!

iirc, the song is written for the guy's mother, who has cancer but keeps her faith in God. He can't understand how she can, seeing as it was God who gave her cancer. It's an extremely sad and bitter song. I'm not a christian, but I can see how it would be offensive to christians.
