  • Why did this man brag about what he did?

  • Thsi was Awesome hope many more to come ^^

  • Even if this arsonist didn't kill anyone, I think that the sentence should be for more than 2 years. I'm guessing he probably did some community service after his sentence.

  • LMAO at 5:20

  • LMAO too. The cop did a flip.

  • pause at 4:40......i can't believe how cheap gas prices were back then

  • The guys a nutcase, however that cop took one hell of a spill over the fence at 5:00

  • lmfao, did u c that cops summersault at 5:20!

  • Anyone else notice the attempted to blank out the address but then they showed it on the screen.

  • Is anyone reminded of the Arsonist who videotaped a fire he set and provided a rather chilling naration on the tape?

  • @DorvellTStewart Are you talking about the one that was featured on Unsolved Mysteries?

  • Yes indeed, Dave! That's the one.

  • Omg I have fire

  • What a dumbass that arsonist is.

  • This Torch guy is stupid, funny, dumb, and hilarious. He's like a little kid in a grown man's body!

Kids play with matches, arsons do too!

  • Looks like the torch got extinguished when the cops nailed him!

He probably called himself torch simply because he liked to torch things on fire!

  • that man is a bastard who just would set a house on fire for pleasure!!!!!!!!

  • See thats the part that freaks me out (in the car lot) because he's probably under the care ready to slash your ankles.

  • That man is SCARY.

  • That man sounds really scary and evil.

  • i didn't start the firer..

  • i dont get y the man would even call the police just to taunt them, he got himself arrested, lol, dumbass!!

  • at 6.02 lol its a 1977 Chevy chevette

  • I'm glad the cops finally got that son of a bitch. I hope the prisoners beats him up.

  • 2 bleeping years? 2 bleeping short.

  • Most of the times, arsonists wouldn't dial 9-1-1 after arsoning someones home. That's why arsonists are really hard to catch. I'm pretty sure if someone died in that arsoned house, he'd have a longer sentence in prison. Maybe even LIFE! It's a good thing that the 9-1-1 dispatcher kept the arsonist on the line long enough for the police to catch him.

  • And thus ends the painfully short career of the Torch. By the way Mr Torch, Marvel called. They said to find another name. That one is under copyright. Have a nice day.

  • At 2:32, if that's the arsonist, where did the sherrif's jacket come from?? All throughout the segment he is not wearing a sherrif's jacket, but at 2:32 he is all of a sudden wearing a sherrif's poilce jacket.

    2. With all of the calls he is making at a pay phone, how many quarters do you think he has?

  • You don't have to pay to call 911 from a pay phone.

  • 0:25 is seen again at 7:10.

  • the closeup of the ARSONIST with match at 7:10 is the awesomest scene ever for a segment finale.

  • 3:22 is used for the sept, 5, 1989 promo which is here btw for RESCUE 911.

  • As a tip to the producers: never pan past a clock with the real time on it when the re enactment is supposed to be taking place at 4am... At about 4:20 you can see a digital clock that says 22:43 or so...

  • wow 2 years prolly out starting more fires

  • Us firefighters have a name for arsonists, job security.

  • @OneSkiWonder Another name for job security for you is "WINTER". Arsonists are not your best choice for job security. Its all funny until it happens to you. lol

  • holly shit 5:21

    is that cop ok?

  • The TORCH?!

    Give me a break.

If they're not doing that, they're watching their own "handiwork." They stand in the crowd of onlookers and watch us fight the fire.

They don't usually call attention to themselves the way the guy in the segment did.

  • Yes, and by all logic an reason the DC Sniper was suspected to be white, middle-aged and a loner. He was none of such. You can't go by stereotypes, because they are only accurate most of the time. There is still that chance they're wrong.

  • to me anybody that hides or runs form the law and justice is a coward

  • I agree it sounded like it came off a radio brodcast.

  • 0:01 sounds like it was recorded on a radio and not tv.

  • I just noticed that also when I played it at :01, sounds like static when one is changing radio stations.

  • that man isn't an arsonist,he isn't even a man!

hes a beast......why is he allowed to live if hes gonna do something like this!

  • Just because the man committed arson doesn't mean he deserves to die. He deserves to punished yes, but no one deserves do die.

  • the shot at 0:15-16 is reused in "Trailer fire" #206 if anyone wants to see.

  • lol the firemen go down the pole to the trucks

  • i've read a connection between bed-wetting and arson I wonder if the arsonist in the segment also had this problem?

  • i live in houston just saying

  • What?!?! 2 years in prison for just arson?!?!? Arson is a felony!!!

  • That was back then?

  • Arson can sometimes be a misdemeanor, but common law says arson is a felony, no matter what...

  • Different States had different laws 5 - 100+ years ago. But now adays Arson is felony and is usally 4 years Min and max of 25 years.

  • Flawed justice system!!!

  • The dispatcher did a damn good job with keeping the guy on the phone. He'd make one hell of an undercover cop!

  • dude had ALOT of time On his hands.. can go around settin fires sheesh!!!

  • What a friggin Idiot.

  • OK, so there's no harm done, because you all must know that the guy only got a $50 fine! My mother agrees with me saying that that was ridiculous.

  • If you think THIS clown got too light of a sentence, take a look at "Hurt Highway Lt." from Episode 214, which is on this site. (For those who haven't seen it, I won't spoil it for them.)

  • It's hard for us not to spoil what that guy's sentence is in Hurt Highway Ltd., because it is so redicuous.

    It's laughable.

  • I like the music where the police are chasing the idiot suspuct

  • .98 for super. Those were the days!!!!!!!

  • Only 2 years in prison?! Something is wrong with our justice system.

  • What is scary is that the antique 1960's style dispatch center that Houston had way back when this was filmed worked better and had less flaws than the 6 million dollar one they switched to a few years ago.

  • yeah what was better about the 1960's style dispatch center?

  • For one thing there was an actual human that talked to you instead of a computer that sounds like the computer from the movie War Games. The thing will freeze up in the middle of dispatching a call and cut off half of the information.

  • like the scene in the intro where it says "Blue Jeans, Room On Fire" sequence right?

  • Arsonists.. whats the point ? Seriously.. they just put thereselves in danger!

  • That's a really bad area of Houston, even back then.

  • Yeah no doubt. I've lived in the Houston area my entire life and even as a kid I can remember how bad it was. Long story short, if the surrounding housing is old and white like the one in the beginning of the video and it's off North Main St. Stay AWAY unless you own an armored vehicle or you're a suicidal nut job.

  • oh like this sentence: The arsonist burned the money from the bank. Like that?

  • An arsonist is simply a person who starts a fire.

  • whats an arsonist?

  • Someone who illegally sets things on fire.

  • Are you kidding?

  • No not kidding. Arson is when fire is being set illegally.

  • That comment was in reference to "poyosayskirby's" comment. I could not believe that person did not know what an arsonist is.

  • This segment was how I learned what an arsonist is (back when I was a kid).

  • oh wow...that guy was loony toons

  • Agreed

  • This guy is an idiot, why would he tell the operator that he started the fire, how stupid can you get?

  • I think you answered your own question: Because he's an idiot.

  • I hate arsonists!

  • poor policemen and the fence.

  • Crrrraaaazzzzzy segment about a looney arsonist.

  • the cop and the fence should go on americas funny videos

  • It was probably a mistake of the stunt man/actor during the filming, or something the director told them to do. I doubt it was the real officer.

  • ROFL..!It was funny wen the officer triped up un za fence lol

  • what kind of idiot doesn't know that police and 911 can trace calls?

  • I think he does know, because at the end of the second call he says, "I'm hanging up right now, because I don't want to help you guys catch me."

If he did know, that makes him even more of an idiot.

  • I Agree Thanks Again Allgood For Doing This

  • You know what the difference between a arsonists and firefighters? Firefighters do it legally. Firefighters = pyros playin with fire. Ask any firefighter and they will tell you that what I just said is true. I am a wildland firefighter and a structural firefighter. I swing both ways ;)

  • That's one sick person

  • I agree, it was one very sick person that did this to the house

  • For the opening of this segment there should have been 2 animated vehicles Firetruck and policecar LOL since this segment deals with both those vehicles.

  • dude the cop did a back flip when he was chasing the guy

  • when that arsonist told the police that i set that fire i'll said to him like "what?! you idiot, you FUCKING idiot!"

  • What the hell was wrong with the judge giving a guy that sets fires only two years. Arsonists should always get a sentance of life in prison or better still the death penalty.

  • you don't need to have the death penalty for arsons unless they killed someone, geez you are a complete idiot

  • Its morons like you and the arsonists who are the complete idiots.

Arsonist are all prospective murderers as they do not care if decent folks are injured or killed. When caught they should be executed to prevent them killing in the future.

  • last time I checked you are the moron for not reading the whole thing jackass

  • so you want to kill people to save others? i'm not sure that one person ever has the right to kill another. oh, but i guess The Man isn't a person.

  • If you have a mad dog that tries to injure and kill people you need to kill it for the safety of decent folks. An arsonist is no different, he or she tries to injure and kill people and needs to be killed for the safety of decent folks.

  • I agree 100%. In fact, I have a long list of laws that I strongly feel should be rewritten to include a mandatory death sentence but I don't have the time or space to list them all here.

  • I HATE PEOPLE NO OFFENSE

  • that man is so stupid to set an abandoned house on fire

  • At least it's better than setting fire to a house with people inside...

  • yeah but the firefighters still had to go in the building and endanger their lives

  • what an asshole, he's lucky none of those firefighters on the line got injured or even killed

  • I'm glad that the cops caught that guy before he would start another fire and end up hurting someone else.

  • I think that arsonist was either mentally ill, drunk, or on drugs. He could have been all three.

  • Or he likes to burn down houses.

  • The technical term is "pyromaniac".

  • this guy is a nut

gets turned on by burning large things

  • I can never resist a great dumb criminal story, and this one satisfied right down to the letter of the word. This guy was a real knucklehead.

  • wat an idiot! arsonists r buttholes!

  • All arsonists should be charged with attempted murder - they know the potential outcome of their actions.

  • I love that "Are you the Torch"?

  • vote on rescue 911 on tvshowsondvd ,3000 votes gets it out on dvd

  • I already posted my vote on that online petition.

Rescue 911 is a good education series about what to do when it comes to 911 emergencies. Whether it's learning about fire safty, crime, or any kind of accidents.

  • I Agree

  • lol look into my profile for funny 911 calls and a funny cop chase at the end

  • here's a theory the suspect has blue Jeans, maybe my favorite image where it has a black computer screen that says Blue Jeans,ROOM ON FIRE was a deleted scene that might be part of this segment.

  • I thought about that, but their computer screens didn't look like they had both red and blue text on them.

  • Could this guy be related to Beavis?

  • I don't know!! But they both love "FIRE!"

  • 2 years? the maximum in the UK is life in prison

  • what an idiot. His mom must have dropped him on his head frequently.

  • ONLY 2 YEARS? AGHHH that ticks me off. He needs to be in longer.

  • Sounds like Bob Dylan!!

  • the guy sounds drunk lol

  • I can't believe he only got 2 years for that.

  • lol what a dumb shit

  • for some setting fires is out of anger toward a person who owns the property, some get sexual satisfaction from it, some are mentally ill and some, rare have done it for being rejected as a applicant to a fire dept.

  • isn't torch a comic book villan? mabey he grew up wanting to be his fav. comic book hero?

  • this segment has no life saving value except for children, the message is dont play with fire.

  • Or better yet, don't play with matches!! I bet this guy loved camp fires when he was younger!!

  • What a fool abusing the system! He deserved to be locked up in a mental insanity ward.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA torch.

  • like the cop in the parking looking for him couldn't find me till cop siad some thing and good old torch got up

  • I guess he was trying to make a career as a serial arsonist known as Torch. What a f***ing idiot.

  • His name was Torch!!

    Funny stuff!!

Loved watching that cop flip over the fence!!!

  • I thought of this segment as hilarious since the guy was clearly stupid lol. He got traced...pfft what an idiot.

  • LOL! Yeah.
